Great list. Surprised 99 final wasn't on this list!!. Looking at the video I never released how old-fashioned Venus played. If she opened her arms more she would have won the 2008 match easily and she might win a match nowadays.

My 🥎de to Serena Williams I remember the only black person in tennis was Arthur Ashe. We had Ali in boxing. OJ in football. Dr J., Wilt, Magic and few others in basketball. Track was Carl Lewis and numerous musicians, poets and actors - ironically not enough but too many to name right now... We've all wrote black history reports on one or more of these amazing people. Back to tennis...The Williams sisters are simply HERSTORY! They were given nothing, worked their arses off and won it all. They didn't just win, they dominated. Nothing was given to them. Nothing! What criteria was used to determine this list? Personal opinion? Because I’m not sure how this list is missing the 99 final, 01 semifinal (her form was off the charts in that match against the World Number 1), 09 quarterfinal, and 2020 4th round round. I don’t think the 2011 3rd round (the first set was a snoozer), 2018 or 2019 4th rounds or 2016 quarterfinals were better in terms of quality and quality of opponent. Additionally, move Number 5 up to Number 1 - one of the best matches played at the US Open in terms of quality.

The 99 final could be on this list. In 2001 Hingis was plagued by injuries, and got ankle surgery a couple of weeks later. She was unrecognizable in that match.

I’m sorry, but the 2013 final was MILES AND MILES better than the 2012 final. I also can’t believe that her 2001 or 2002 semifinal didn’t make the list. Serena’s 2014 final should be here. I think Serena vs Flavia Pennetta in 2009 is an honorable mention as well.
