This is great. Love the size of the shed. A few of suggestions: 1) Add more than one outlet underneath the workbench. Don’t think you’ll regret it. 2) Consider adding CAT wiring. Never know, it might come in handy. 3) Put in a ramp at the double doors entrance. You might need to roll in materials on a dolly, and navigating over steps with a dolly could prove problematic. 4) If possible, have a switch in your house to operate the lights on the exterior of the shed, so you’ll have lighting if you need to walk out there in the dark. But also there’ll be switches in the shed to operate the lights too. As for the window boxes, check to see if there’s any knock out plugs for water drainage. Your plants will thank you for it. 😉 Good luck with the finishing. 😊

I found your channel while research sheds and I hit the jackpot! You are amazing, awesome and my hero! Everything you do I would love to do, but here I am 65, a young 65 , but oh how I wished I would have had the courage to have done what you do. I have always been a DIYer. I’ve refinished furniture, sanded kitchen cabinets and stained them because I didn’t have the money to replace them and they turned out great, that was many years ago. I bought a small concrete mixer about 6 years ago and have made small aprons in front of my shed and screened patio and even made a 6 x 8 concrete patio on the side of my screened patio, all done with concrete molds! I love it and love working with concrete. I also made my own pavers cause I couldn’t find what I wanted. I so want to learn to use power tools because there are a number of things I’d like to build. You are a true inspiration and finding you was serendipitous! Thank you for what you do and I want you to know, even at my age, I feel motivated to just do the things I’ve always wanted to do. I’m excited to spend time looking at your channel. Your energy and enthusiasm is contagious.THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Sorry for the long comment! I’m energized!

There is no such thing as too many outlets and maybe even one outside? Just my two cents from working in my craft room and never having an outlet in the right spot! 😁

@@ThriftDiving I would put 2 plugs every 6 feet and add one outside too. You can't have too many. Ask the electrician about a "whole house surge protector" that protects all outlets, lights, tools, computers, TVs, Cameras, etc. I believe they connect to your panel box.

A couple years ago, I had a ductless heat pump installed in my home, because I have little to no crawl space and also, I was tired of hauling pellets in for the pellet stove. I had used the pellet stove for about 14 years, and I'm not getting any younger. Well, I would just like to share with you that the outside unit will be blowing a lot of air- there's a big fan inside it. So my suggestion is to put your heat pump on one end of the shed, or near the end if you have it on the back wall. If you want a sitting area behind the shed, just imagine a big ol' fan back there also. Just more food for thought. I'm jealous in regards to your shed. That would be so great! Congratulations, I know you'll have a lot of happy hours working in your "She Shed".

Hoping Tuff shed put in a real 3/4” plywood floor deck on the floor joists versus using particle board. Just helped a friend saw out his old 1”particle board floor deck because it was not sealed from moisture on the under side properly and started caving-in. (Particle board is very sensitive to moisture). The other consideration is the equipment and heavy items you will put on this floor.

Oh my goodness! I cannot believe someone would try to charge that. I'm wondering, what makes the wiring "custom"? Is it old aluminum wiring? Knob and tube? Get lots more quotes. Sounds fishy to me!
@vic6773 жыл бұрын
@@ThriftDiving We bought a foreclosure in Connecticut and we are from Long Island. We have been told that "long Islander are rich." LOL. It's been a mess renovating this house. The quotes, sabotage, deliberately damages, and theft by the contractors while we cannot be one site. All because we are not from their state. The wire is not custom. It's the same wire, plugs, and stuff everyone else use.its their way to rip people off. Everything in Connecticut is apparently "custom"- they want $10,000k to cut down a tree and $500.00 per hour to mow the lawn. If I wasn't going through it I'd think it was a joke.

Serena, You just empowered every woman in the world to build and make her own She Shed. ;-) You go Girl! BTW with all these power tools going battery-powered, put in plenty of plugs to run your chargers. If YOU are going to do the wiring, it's not that expensive to get the pieces to do it! I'd even put up lights outside off the doors and a couple to the back area. Oh-- one more thing... Get a Ring System or Alarm, like Simply safe inside that shop with all your tools. Seriously-- The place looks like heaven!

I love this! I agree that you'll want more outlets than you think you'll need. And someone below mentioned a ramp - if you do an area with seating the ramp will look weird. @ThriftDiving2 жыл бұрын
Windows defintely take up space! Thankfully, these windows are too big so I still have plenty of wall space (I hope!). For me, lots of natural light was most important. I wanted a happy place to create and work, not necessarily a place to store a bunch of crap, so I will definitely have to take a minimalistic approach to what I decide to bring in! Lol As for the skylights, you can always add those! In fact, I even thought that one day I may upgrade to better ones. Maybe ones with motorized blinds!
