This has always been my favorite of his. It's about a struggling singer/songwriter who hasn't been able to make it yet, and he's torn between continuing his dream or giving up on it. Kenny Rogers was such a class act. I will always miss him. Fun Fact: There was a young woman named Whitney Duncan, who was a contestant on Survivor who was a country singer/songwriter. She had submitted a few of her original song to a demo catalog. This is where singers will search for a song to sing and possibly make a single out of it. Anyway, Kenny Rogers found a song in there that he wanted to record, the song was written by Whitney, and, not only did he love the song, but he also thought her voice was phenomenal, so his people phone her people and they asked if they could have the rights to sing the song. Whitney's people said yes, absolutely. Kenny DID have one extra request. He felt he would not be able to do the song justice unless he sang it as a duet WITH Whitney. Obviously Whitney was honoured and she, of course sang on it. There was even a music video for the single, I think you would absolutely love reacting to it.
