Hi everyone! Welcome back to the Rainbow Extravaganza for 2020! In this video, I'm making the new Serendipity Soap. This soap is scented in a mouth-watering chocolate mint fragrance.
I'm only making one video per soap for this Rainbow Extravaganza. Some will be long and chatty like this one but most will be short and sweet. Thanks for watching!

Why doesn’t your video have a recipe and supply list? This video is not a tutorial.
How do I get started in soapmaking? Start off by researching. Educate and then experiment. Be sure to follow all proper safety precautions. A great starting place is the beginner cold process soapmaking series by SoapQueenTV here on KZbin. You can then purchase all the supplies you need at Bramble Berry. Lovin Soap Studio also has a beginner series on KZbin.
Why don't you share your cold process soap recipe? Our recipe is proprietary. We are contractually obligated to keep our recipe a secret. I do occasionally share a test recipe. I highly recommend Bramble Berry, Lovin' Soap, and The Nerdy Farm Wife for free recipes. Those resources are a great starting point and then you can tweak your favorite recipe to make it your own.
Where do you buy your oils? We purchase our oils in bulk at Soapers Choice, Wholesale Supplies Plus, and Sam's Club.
Where did you buy your molds? My husband builds all my wood molds. My silicone molds are from various suppliers.
Where did you buy your soap planer? My husband built the soap planer for me.
Where did you buy your soap cutter? We purchased our soap cutter at Bud’s Woodshop.
Where did you buy your soap loaf splitter? Our loaf splitter was purchased from Smith Creek Studio.
Where do you buy your soaping containers? My pitchers are from School Masters and my large plastic containers are from Webstaurant Store.
Where do you buy your fragrance oils? We purchase our oils from many different suppliers. We don’t have a one-stop-shop for all of our oils. We blend the majority of the fragrances we work with.
Where do you buy your colors? We buy our colors at Bramble Berry, Nurture Soap, and Mad Micas.
Where do you buy your coconut milk? I was buying So Delicious Organic Coconut Milk on Amazon but I think you all bought them out! Ha! I now buy Native Forest Organic Coconut Milk. Please don't buy them out. I need coconut milk. lol
Where do you buy your soap boxes? We usually buy our boxes from Wholesale Supplies Plus or Elements Bath and Body.
How do you design and print your labels? I use Adobe Photoshop to design my labels. I use full sheet labels and print with our HP Laser Jet Pro printer.
Where do you buy your packaging materials? We buy our packaging materials at various suppliers including Paper Mart, ULine, Nashville Wraps, Eco Enclose, and Amazon.
Do you give classes? No, I do not offer classes. However, if you need help, leave me a comment and I’ll see what I can do.
Why are the comments disabled on your older videos? Due to some very negative, hateful, and vile comments, I am no longer allowing commenting on older videos. The older videos seem to be the ones targeted. Newer videos may have approved comments for a time. I welcome decent, respectful comments.

Just an FYI... magic marker stands up to repeated dishwashing quite well! I learned a LONG time ago to duplicate the measurements I need to use on the OUTSIDE of my containers for easy reading, too! And simple magic marker works best for me. And having those lines has allowed me to find *exactly* where I needed to pour to, much more easily.for soap and everything else.😁😉😘

I love it! I have an Andes candy soap planned for my christmas soaps doing it just like this but with mint green in the middle. I have a bottle of dark chocolate FO I need to find uses for! This came out so cute!

Beautiful! So excited for this release. I wonder if you could borrow a woodworking trick and make a stop on that cutter’s pusher at 3.5” like one would do with a mitre saw fence? Then you could just push the loaf up to the stop and not have to worry about checking the dimension every time. Just a thought that might help with speed. Love your stuff!

All I can say is beautifully unique! And very, very much a Holly soap. I can't imagine anyone else creating this bar and knowing you, I'd say it smells incredible! I got my baby soap done and will start working on my East coast/West coast/Midwest soap series. I'll do 2 soaps for each region. A mens soap and a womans soap for each region, then baby soap for all. By the time those are released it'll be time to start holiday soaps. Yes 2020 has been quite the squirrelly year. Everything seems to get shuffled around, mixed up, and it drives you a little crazy. Hopefully fall will get better and 2021 will be a little more settled. I guess this year is checking to see if we're all paying attention, lol! It drives my OCD nuts though!

I would REALLY love to sample your soaps...have you thought of making up, like, a quart sized bag of just samples to sell? Put alike scents in the same bag? If that makes sense. I would totally love to buy a huge sample of soaps from you!!!! I just love watching your videos, but, I don't really use bar soaps. Just the liquid. But, I would love to try some of the milk ones and fruity ones in the shower!

What time does the collection release? I’ve never been able to order before. This will be my first time. I plan on trying to get at least 5 of the ones I’m dying to try. Just so afraid I’m going to miss out. I don’t have good luck on collection release dates. Seems I always get bad luck an sell out before my slow butt gets everything in my cart. Wish I could add everything beforehand then just add my payment the day of 😆

Thank you Ashley! I usually release at 7:30pm central. So when I nail down a date, make sure to set an alarm. :-) I also have a wish list feature on the website. You can add all the products that you want ahead of time. Then when the products go live, you can simply 'add to cart' and finish your check out. :-)

??? Holly, I am wondering if the vanilla fo in the chocolate eventually migrates into your rainbow portion? I would love to make this sandwich technique for the holidays but do wonder about any vanilla fo migrating. Listening again, you do mention the chocolate layer migrated a bit into the ice cream portion. Still wondering how bad, however.

Hi Marie! The picture at the end (and thumbnail) are of the fully cured soap. It did migrate in a bit but nothing too bad. Every fragrance will be a bit different though.

Very nice soap 🌹 just have 1 question. Does the addition of coconut milk affect the shelf life of the soap?

Thank you! Not significantly. Most of my milk soaps are made with only a percentage of milk and the coconut milk is even more compatible than animal milks. That being said, I do still recommend our soaps be used up within a reasonable time frame. I'm using soaps that are 2-3 years old and they are just as good as the time I made them.

Oh lord ❤️😍 it is so coooollll ❤️ yummmyyy 🤭😋 Sorry but just a question, did you use chocolate (fragrance oil) right?! From which company?! I tried from two suppliers and my 🧼 was so ugly 😢! Looked like a jelly 🙄. Actually I tried some fragrances oils (many different) and was a disaster 🤷‍♀️😱! I just can work with essential oils. But they are expensive 🙁😩
