Gretzky getting traded to the kings was the best thing to happen to the NHL. We wouldn't have alot of the teams we do now without his popularity boosting the game.

That last line about his assist totals leaves out a major detail - not only did he have more assists (and goals) than anyone, he had more assists than anyone else had points.

I didn't even follow hockey , but I knew who Wayne Gretzky was, that's how big he was 💪
@brandocalrissian329411 ай бұрын
Exactly. He was bigger than the game, and the NHL wouldn't be anywhere near as successful as it is today without him.

I love the line from Esposito... Gretzky knew what you were gonna do, before you knew what you were gonna do. That sums it all up, an entire career in one sentence.

The Gretzky family lives in Paris Ontario. I never got to meet Wayne Gretzky but met Ted Gretzky who was my social worker. I got free tickets to the old timers game from Inner city angels. Only boys got to play hockey! I am only welcome to skate on outside rinks since the coronation virus. The Loblaws at the old maple leaf gardens has been closed to me and there is an armed cop at the entrance but the arena area has been open. All they sell is vending machine food/ drinks!

The Hockey Hall of Fame is closed to many NHL hockey players. They can't go see their memorabilia on display as the security guards at Brookfield don't want them inside. Only the gift shop is open as the entrance from the street to the hockey Hall of Fame has been closed

GRETZKY never stood out as a fast skater; his shot was below average, (going by speed); he wasn't great at body checking and he wasn't strong. Nevertheless, he had another gear that nobody else had: THE HUNGRY TO WIN GEAR.
