That episode is full of details like, how Titus has an unorthodox way of fighting compared to his Ultramarines brothers due to his service in the death watch and the experience he gained fighting alongside other space marines chapters. He even abandoned the coffin he was entrusted with and charged at the ennemies while the others held a defensive line, in the death watch you learn that the best defensive measure is to attack 😂

Everything from shots to reloads to ax strikes takes nothing but the absolute minimum of required motion, absolute efficiency. Its not just efficiency. They are all elder brothers, with long histories and veterancies. They are more than 4 marines, but 4 extensively battle hardened marines. Like watching a 20 year combat vet in the field vs a freshly graduated recruit. These guys each have at least 300 years of hard warfare that they survived, more or less intact. Makes me think that alot of their actions in combat are less thought and more muscle memory on how to act exactly in each specific situation.

The thing that makes this awesome is that they portrayed the Space Marines as they should be to normal humans. Not just bigger, not just stronger, but FASTER. They are almost always portrayed as a bit slower because of the bulky armor and the size but they were made and designed to be just that, better in every way.

The economy of filmography is brilliant here too. Look at 02:30 - we have Metaurus and a brother in profile, weathering the storm, Titus charges through the midground, followed by the camera, we get a close angle as Metaurus looks over his shoulder at the sled Titus was pulling and the camera directs to it, and then focuses on Metaurus' eye lenses as he looks back after Titus: just those 3 seconds are all it takes for us to understand that Titus is responsible for that sled and by abandoning it to engage the IFV he's going against the grain. When you block your characters and camera well enough, you don’t need dialogue. Just fantastic work.

I am 38yo, i have been collecting/playing warhammer, titan legions, warhammer 40k, necromunder, space hulk when i was 5yo, i am so happy to see how much this table top game has grown and getting the credit it deserves, i just hope they dont butcher the lores of this universe with a movie or series like they did with Borderlands movie or witchers tv series.

This was SO METAL I felt like the video games didn’t really make justice to how insane of a creature an Astartes was, when looking for something close to live action. This was AMAZING, loved the detail! the ominous walk; like they know nothing can’t really stop them so why rush. They need to make a full fleshed series 😭
