Because Hip Hop has taken over their brain and life. They think there's no other music out there and everything else is corny... Until someone they think is cool listens first or they hear it in a video game or on a TikTok video or something, then they like it. And I'm not just talking about just Whitney Houston, I'm talking about anything outside of what they listen to all the time. 🙄

@@MyBusanEscape I'm not "crapping on today's music. I just mentioned Hip Hop. Just because I mentioned Hip Hop that doesn't mean I'm crapping on "today's music". There are other genres out there in "today's music" other than Hip Hop. I love a lot of today's music. And I don't listen to "Charted" music. My music range goes from Experimental, Electronic to every genre you can name. I don't listen to most popular "charted" music..so you bet wrong. I'm crapping on the need for people to think Hip Hop is the only music they can listen to.Yea, My father had music playing all the time in the house growing up. So I was exposed to a range of older music. Then I also listened to my older brothers music which was before my time. This was considered "Black" music back in the day. People also stop themselves from listening to other music because they don't like the "Type of People" that listen to it or play it...They say, "I don't like that music "Those People" listen to". They relate music with a type of people. And judge the music by the people who listen to it, rather than if they enjoy the sound or not. As a kid I was always afraid to listen to other genres of music like classical music, rock, experimental music, music from other countries ..ect. because I thought it wasn't "cool" to listen to. I would listen secretly in my room alone. But I would never let my friends know I was listening cause they would make fun or think it was weird. That's why I understand. But I learned, music is just a combinations of sounds and if you like how something sounds, no matter what genre, or what kind of people listen to it or created it, or if it's "cool" enough or trendy or not...Or if your friends like it or not, then you should expand your music palette. So I started expanding mine early on when I was a teen.

"The Voice" is engraved on her tombstone. I was born the same week, same year as Whitney. Her music has been the Soundtrack of my life. I have said for years now, that despite the negative aspects of her last years, she will be known as a legend by those who are unfamiliar with her music, and here it is.
