I was thinking about that when they said to him he was halfway thru like to reassure him as if he were tired and he looked like he could have a smoke and eat a sandwich. He looked like he could have done another twelve people no problem without even breaking a sweat. I had a friend of mine who was a pro player that used to come to my place to take me to run. While I thought I was dying, he used to say: "okay, now we are halfway thru", and I was, like, "WHAT?". Then when I was completely out of it, he was like, "alright, but the last leg we do it SPRINTING". And then, when I literally collapsed to the ground, he lifted me up and said "okay, now we go play tennis", and took the racket and balls.

Get past people is not about how fancy or acrobat you are, is about the acceleration, reaction and strength. When you look at messi, robben or others pro, they dont need a lot of crossover, drag back etc. Just a body faint, and then accelerate with your quad and protect with your body strength.
@deejinlondon72854 ай бұрын
Dribbling past a players in a 5 aside or 11 a-side is different (easier) to dribbling past someone 1v1 with nobody else involved. I 1v1 you need to do something to make the othe player lose their balance or go the other way; a drag back, step over or feint etc.

Those first 2 or 3 meters of explosion after you make a good move as a striker are key. The defender is always with his back to the goal so if you can get to the ball after getting him to shift his weight, you're in good shape. Some of these guys can have a future with the right fitness and strength.

The Messi player has mad talent he’s already explosive and quick with his low center of gravity imagine if he got proper strength and conditioning coach from a club
@hailyrizzo54285 ай бұрын
well pointed out. this is a critical element that many amateur players ignore, even or maybe especially those pro level freestylists. they concentrate too much on using their ball skills and fancy footwork to get the ball past the defender, but they forget they themselves have to go past the defender also. the ball must go past the defender and your BODY must also go past the defender. otherwise, as you can see here, the defender will just step between you and the ball and block you off. apart from foot skills, you should use body feints to fool the defender into putting his weight in the wrong direction or at least be able to quickly shift your body weight to go past the defender yourself. look at how basketball players go past their man. they constantly shift their weight back and forth, back and forth. not being able to do that is fatal, no matter how good your ball skills.
