Scientists are simply professionals in the production of knowledge. Are you going to apply what you are saying to doctors as well and ask why your neurosurgeon does not ask your larger-society-drunk neighbour about the best way to remove your brain tumour?

1. Yes, they are professionals in the production of knowledge. 2. A brain tumour is generated by a natural process which has nothing to do with the knowledge about it. With the appropriate knowledge maybe we could prevent it from forming, or stop it from developing further, but it is not caused by a lack of knowledge in medicine. 3. Knowledge definition: "facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject." Why does knowledge have to produce wisdom? 4. Science does in fact help produce wisdom as it is generating knowledge, one of the requirements for wisdom along experience and good judgement, both of which are amplified in the process of generating knowledge itself. P.S.: Maybe you should learn some science, it helps with rational thinking.

Pues metete en politica y cambia el paradigma social, porque ... Se ve que no entiendes muy bien como funciona el metodo cientifico, y eso que estas haciendo un "doctorado" en fisica...

Did he just completely missed the role of militaries and secret governmental entities? I doubt all of their discoveries will be published in scientific journals, and if they even have a peer review process, they probably wouldn't let you know about it. So, are those discoveries still count as science and how can we govern them? It seems to me that he is just applying democracy to the visible science, but to govern science as a whole, he is missing alot.

Is it science when the same people, military or any secret governmental entity whatsoever keeps it for themselves, or it is under the scrutiny of a wider scientific community?

Unfortunately, the way scientific papers are being published is/has changing a lot. There is increasingly more rubbish science online. It's becoming harder to spot the bogus non-academic institutions ;~)
