I think one thing people miss in this song is the references to the extremists being financed by Saudi Arabia. Royalty, green like their flag. It is also a fact that they practice an extremely fundamentalist form of Islam officially, the royals and government follow Wahhabism which has very dark views of others. They sponsor schools that teach that form of Islam all over the world, which would be fair enough if they weren’t also the biggest sponsors of psycho murderous terror groups. It ends up being rather disconcerting to think what the effect on young minds such religious ideology may have. Although I do believe it will have no effect on the majority it is just the little group that only need a push to end up somewhere bleak that frightens.

I get your point, religious books have pretty F up passages, and in a reductive way I see them as propaganda 101. They reflect the ideas and beliefs of those who wrote them at the time they did. They are a mixture of mythicised history, some laws and jurisprudence, on the hand justifications for wars... A kind of bruteforce attempt to create an identity and shove down the mind of people and children, to justify the authority of a class, over the other. But they are history and heritage, a sensitive issue to most believers, and to go assaulting them by saying that they are a hateful bunch because of X and Y in their book, or actions of someone in their faith won't lead to anything but a clinching to those books and beliefs. I honestly don't know how to "fight" effectively against religions, but i don't believe that polarizing the debate can bring any good. Have a nice day heathen =P
