Glory to Jesus. I bless God that he can now see. I pray John McArthur’s eyes and others open to the healing power of Jesus

The thing that stands out to me is how he's always prayed for people, and then after 52 years he went to a village where there were no believers... and they were healed! In the Bible, God used miracles whenever the gospel went to a new place. I've been watching Francis Chan for years and he seems like a genuine person... when he lived in America, he left his large church because he was getting too much attention. Also he and his wife downsized their house and focused on giving to people, and they adopted a teenager when they already had 5 or 6 children. Then they moved to China right after the virus outbreak, so they could reach people there. So I do believe him. Anyway, where did you find this video clip? It would be great to see the whole message!

Agreed. Those who criticize by saying Jesus and the apostles healed everyone everywhere don’t seem to take into account those were often places the Gospel had never been preached. Anyway, I don’t recall where I got the clip. But I believe this was at Moody Bible college. Maybe type that into a search and it should pop up.

I go to Moody. It was a pretty great message. He gets a lot of flack. Especially for what he said right there, but I see no problem theologically. I think there might only be a problem if you're a cessationist.

This was the first time I’ve ever heard Chan and to me, he just sounded so authentic. I’ve had the same kinds of thoughts when I read the Scriptures. Everybody wants to tack on disclaimers but there’s something to be said for letting it all go and simply believing.

@@theobjectivebeliever I agree, though we should be careful sometimes and see context. Especially since Jesus was not literal most the time he preached. However, there is a beauty to simplicity and not over complicating things all of the time.

I'm a cessationist and believe that God still performs miracles. He can still heal tribes and nations, as we are commanded in scripture to lay hands and pray. The difference is that in western churches we have so many false teachers getting rich off of sick people looking for such healing, when it was always for a sign to those who have never heard. This sermon clearly follows what scripture teaches. Calvinists I know aren't blind to true healing. Just won't accept all the false teachers in the charismatic movement that don't even know scripture.

Did Francis Chan not have anyone there with a phone camera? Why is there never any evidence of these kinds of stunning miracles? And I'm sure that if everyone he touched was healed, there must have been more healings than a couple of deaf kids. No limbs growing back? No decomposed dead people raised? Anything??

@@theobjectivebeliever Hello. I am glad to clarify, and I appreciate your interest. Chan and others make extravagant claims about miracles. Virtually never do they provide any proof more compelling more eyewitness accounts which may or may not be reliable or verifiable. Often, we must simply take their word for it. I see that you are very sympathetic to the Word of Faith movement and places like Bethel (which saw the tragic, sad, and embarrassing episode involving the attempt to raise the daughter of Kalley Heiligenthal from the dead). I probably should have noticed this before I posted my reaction. I will look at your videos defending teachers like these, but I admit I do not expect to see anything compelling. I have had personal experiences with believers who have prophesied ridiculous things over me and my ex-wife, so I admit that I am very jaded. I have literally had a friend, a very godly man, drop dead of a heart attack because he believed God for healing and wouldn't go to a doctor. My own Christian faith was severely damaged by my involvement in delusions similar to these. Children die frequently because their parents take that same attitude as my friend. If you don't think it worth your time, don't feel obligated to respond.

@lawtonbrewer4107 I'm sorry for your experiences but I do want to gift you with some encouragement. I too have often thought the way you have and had similar experiences as you but for some reason God always pulled me back to the story of the lame man of 38 years. Jesus could have healed that whole temple and disregard the stirring waters but He didn't. He only healed ONE man out of what could have been hundreds of sick people waiting to be healed. And sometimes....it's just not God's will - and I have to trust that above all else. Whether healing is recorded or not, it's God's business and was not meant to justify our beliefs. Jesus didn't heal so that people would believe. He healed because it was His Father's will. I used to NOT believe in these but the more I press into JESUS, the more I realize how out of place my heart was. It is not my place to say if something or someone was healed or not - but it is my place to glorify God that His will was done without me and someone is rooting their faith in Him. Whether they're lying about it or not, God doesn't need my opinion about it....but He DOES need me to be faithful to justice, mercy, and faith - that despite what I think, I still believe God is good and will do whatever He pleases because He is God. So I encourage you, when you're having these thoughts, ask God, "What are you trying to teach me about You? Why does this bother me so much?" Shalom shalom. ❤

@@app13s33d I just can't believe that God wants me to overlook the plain evidence that a person isn't healed when he or sh isn't healed. It bothers me because it's self delusion. It isn't true, plain and simple. And I don't think God insists that I just take someone's word for something.

@@veronicachristopher-fellow5866 Yeah? So Matthew misinterpreted Isaiah 53 as literal healing when he quoted it as literally Jesus bearing our sickness and infirmities in Matthew 8:16,17. 1 Peter 2:24 is talking about whole healing. Spirit, Soul and Body. Isaiah 53 says that we are healed by his stripes and Matthew 8:17 confirms that it is also talking about physical healing.
