Love your builds. This one's great as always. Just wanna leave a quick trick here for aplying silikone, since I do that a lot at work. To tape the edges to prevent squished out silicone to stick, where it doesnt has to, is always a good idea. First of use a razor to cut the tip of the silicone tube to create smoother lines. After you apllied the silicone to the inner edges, you should use a spray bottle filled with water and a bit of dish soap and sray it all over your silicone lines. Then use a flat piece of wood with a right angle and grind that angle round to the diameter, that the distance of your two lines of tape are apart from each other. (You can also buy such tools made out of silicone) Then use this tool to remove access silicone. You can also dip that piece into a bowl of dish soap water before and in between. Remove silicone from the wood piece with a paper towel. Will give you nice clean silicone lines, you don't need to clean up afterwards. Greetings from Germany

“Average person uses five bottles of silicone a year” factoid actually just statistical error. Average person uses 0 bottles of silicone per year. Dear SerpaDesign, I recently made a vivarium in a small tank and I noticed that a few days ago a few of the plants started dying. I used your instructions for the tropical substrate mix. I didn’t have a lot of grave for a false bottom and I couldn’t buy mesh to put on top of the gravel. Should I redesign the false bottom and replant the terrarium or should I just move the plants that are dying into separate containers/pots? Thanks for the help! Your videos are great by the way and they inspire me to do things I wouldn’t normally do.

Josh Arnold if you buy cigarette filters (like 200 for $2) online or at a smoke shop, you can place the cotton filter in between two pierces of rock or wood. If you use liquid superglue (starbond is the best) it will smoke and harden instantly.

For livestock you can should try snails, shrimp or maybe an endler. If you water level was lower and you were able to cover the top of the aquarium you could put some vampire crabs in there, but then again they won't be active unless you have 100% humidity a lot of wet terrain to climb and explore. I'd stay away from small schooling fish since there's not enough room for them to dart around. Can't really recommend any livestock for that small of a body of water, but I do have a suggestion on a plant you can use if you ever tire of scooping out floaters and that plant is pennywort. When grown on the surface of water the leaves of pennywort arrange themselves as small lily pads and they look much closer to actual lily pads than duckweed or water spangles. It also grows much slower which is a bonus in my book.

**Please read my comment. Thank you** Before I say anything...will there be heating and filtration or none at all? If not, maybe get some White Cloud Danios (aka "Mountain Minnows")😊 Since this is only about 2 gallons, I had to consider several things. Their bioload, personalities, care level, care requirements, etc., however, the main thing to consider is if they'll jump out of the tank since it has a low rim. A few of my favorite options would be options would be... 1 male Dario dario (1 "Scarlet Badis") 3 Trichopsis pumila (3 "Sparkling Gouramis") 4 Poecilia wingei (4 "Endler's Livebearers") 6 Danio margaritatus (6 "Celestial Pearl Danios") or maybe a Carinotetraodon travancoricus (1 "Pea Puffer") (of course some Cardinals, Black Neons, and Glowlights will make an obvious choice) p.s. I vote Scarlet Badis!!! They're the best fish ever, yet they're still so underrated :( They're tiny, pretty darn cute, and have the most wonderful personalities!! Plus, they're very easy to find online and are very low-cost. PLUS, they're extremely hardy and are so easy to care for!!PLUS, they have a low bioload! The only complaint I'd have with these cuties is how stubborn and picky they are when it comes to food. But I will say...they really love Bloodworms, baby Brine Shrimp, Daphnia, small insects and larvae, and other tiny morsels...especially when I travel all the way to Sprouts to get him a single raw river Shrimp so I can cut it into tiny pieces and hand feed it to him 😂 If it were me, I'd definitely put a single male Scarlet Badis into this tank. Hope this helps!!!
