They've been the ones asking for 48 hr negative tests for the longest time. My mom flew back to China twice and it has always been hell getting through security. Everyone is those clean room suits standing in line at the airport. Everyone sent to hotels to quarantine for up to 3 weeks. It was INSANE. And now they're complaining.

Basically it’s what you have when leaders feel that any pretenses to decency in other societies are “outdated” and can finally be discarded for “utopia”. Their utopia, of course, _not_ yours. Actually we do know how it happened, a released DoD report confirmed it did come from the Wuhan lab. The work that produced it was done against DoD recommendations because, the report states, the proposed gain of function research was too dangerous, but it went ahead anyway without permission. Look up the video about it by Paul Joseph Watson and others. Naturally, the MSM did not cover this at all. The actual release mechanism was most likely a lab worker selling a deceased lab animal at the local wet market for a bit of extra cash, something is known to have happened before because the CCCP itself has prosecuted such lab staff for doing it (standards in such labs are very poor). I initially thought a lab origin was unlikely; turns out that's what it was, but the links to many western nations, the funding, agencies involved, political connections, etc. are why the reality remains largely unknown. Censorship by omission.

I would be perfectly fine with closing off travel to chinese citizens. not only is it a huge risk for a new wave of infections but when you take into account how much inflation there is right now it would be terrible for western countries to implement lockdowns where loads of people can lose their jobs. greetings from Chile, here we had a very recent problem with chinese illegal police stations, the entire political system just shut up about it and never mentioned it again. My country is in a really tough spot, simillar to australia maybe, but not becouse of geography, almost 50% of our entire export market goes to China, including almost all of our copper and litium. In the 60's the US saw us as his personal africa, so they killed and exterminated a big part of our political and cultural experience, but, I can´t even begin to imagine what China is capable of doing in the same power position. This video really hit me hard. Me and many other foreigners have been stuck here for 3 years now, not able to see family or just have a break. Most people would not have enough time to go home as the quarantine periods were too long and holidays too short. Our school said teachers who leave the city will have their contracts terminated. For the longest time you can’t even leave your city. I’m glad to finally be out of the other side. Considering what most people had to endure in China, I think a 48h covid test is a minor inconvenience.

10:30 As a Southeast Asian student enrolled in an international university in eastern Mainland China, this really hits home. Early 2020 to mid 2021 was a really depressive period for me having to deal with online courses and social isolation in my home country while still having to pay the same amount of tuition fee and a few months worth of rent since we were still optimistic that the government would open up their borders back then. In the end, they never did and we had to relinquish our residence alongside its cash deposit, e-bikes, and leftover belongings (only recently I got them shipped back to my home country and that too under multiple conditions that prevented me from retrieving all of my items). This is probably the first time in my life that a niche 'political' issue concerning myself was pointed out by a public figure and, for once, I felt acknowledged regardless of the fact that it won't change what has already happened in the past. To a certain extent, I do miss Mainland China as a country to live in but can't help but feel resentment for all of the reasons stated above and I probably won't be stepping on their soil again at least until the totalitarian demons responsible for the restrictions are overthrown. I still can't help but feel that the entire thing was orchestrated from the start with how the virus starting to advance right before CNY (funnily enough, I was bedridden with fever around Dec 2019 which was probably just the usual case of Winter flu, but who knows?).

I'm live approximately 65km from Toronto. The winter of 2019 into 2020 I was also ill with a flu. immediate high fever and couldn't catch my breath. Docter hadn't seen anyone that sick that winter. I was dependant on medication to breath and break the fever for weeks. I still wasn't fully recovered going into the autumn of 2020. I had fatigue and brain fog for months. I don't know if I had covid but Toronto was a hot zone them and still is for covid cases. I'm still masking and using precautions.

I share a somewhat similar opinion for similar reasons to yours. I managed to get some stuff mailed backand had two horrible flus on december 2019 while at China. One was a bacterial infectio but the other... Who knows.

That did happen in Aus . Not the food parcels . We were allowed out for 1 hour a day to shop & exercise & had a 5K ring of steel for travel . We were controlled by massive fines . Up to 5 grand . Not as harsh as China , but close . It is still a mess . Businesses closed , health care broken & the city I’m in hasn’t regained its spirit . 😢

wow I didn't realize austrailia was a shitty dictatorship, that makes me super sad. I went on vacation to Mexico in the middle of the pandemic, for 3 weeks, scuba diving and drinking in bars and everything that goes with it, all it took was a card showing I was vaccinated. Even before the vaccine was available we could shop anytime we wanted, go outside and do anything we wanted, even though snowboarding with a mask on was a pain, i didn't mind lol. I did get it at the beginning of that first February 2020, was sick for 2 days, it was the first valentines day I ever refused a steak and a blowie, I'm 56 and healthy though.

I'm a technician and repair all kinds of electronic equipment. I'll put a special effort into buying replacement that WON'T be made in China. Japan, Indonesia, Taiwan, Korea, and Malaysia all make very good quality parts, even better than China ever dreamed of. I already did it and will do it even more. If everyone else does this, then it will just be better for everyone. I also have clients who specify that they don't want anything Chinese in their devices for quality reasons. Now, it will only give me another reason. I'm glad to see that my country is on the list that asks for testing. Our health care is public, and we all pay for it. It's normal for us to try to prevent a covid outbreak.
