tbh game 2 is the best performance for both sides i have ever seen. While people like Clem and Innovation surely keep up to this micro or they even bring more fancy fights, but imho even they would struggle to bring such instant counter compositions on any angle of map. Serral and Maru are just different tier from anyone.

Epic game 5, that was a classic. Maru died at like 7 minutes, then Serral died at like 20 mins, then Maru died again at like 27 minutes, then Maru won. Tastosis recently called Rogue the greatest ever, some call Serral the greatest ever, some still say MVP, but for me no one has ever been better than Maru in peak form. That's probably why he swept an entire season of GSLs once. Sad he's had a couple finals losses recently, one more GSL win would've probably solidified it. We'll see if he gets another before all is said and done.

The key statement is 'in key form'. Maru has struggled to reach and maintain his key form recently which is why he dropped out of most goat discussions lately. Rogue is also rather inconsistent but when he's on he's fully on. Maru is on occasionally but than a bit later he falls just short yet again. He still has his brilliant moments but his inconsistency even during the same tournament is what's killing him. With Rogue you know that when he's in form he's the most likely candidate to win said tournament and when not in form he's a round of 16 player at best. Maru is always a round of 16/8 player even when not in good form but even at top form is struggling to close down tournaments, a lot of those were against Rogue btw. Serral on the other hand is incredibly consistent, even his lows are still incredibly high. With that said I tend to agree that both Maru and Rogue at absolute top form are probably slightly better than Serral but if they're just slightly off, which is quite common for them, than Serral eats them for breakfast.

@@offensivebias8761 Yes, G5L. Do you know how long Maru has been a pro gamer? He won a world record 5 GSLs, yes. However in between them he had major down times. Serral won more tournaments in a much shorter period of time and never had the down times Maru had. Hence Serral is the more consistent player.

Rogue is no doubt the best player in the world in term of achievements. He is also a very strong player at the moment. But he keep getting eliminated early in tournaments and he’s very inconsistent recently. That said he’s still a very strong player and his opponent really need him to have a bad day to beat him.

When Maru play this Terran faction, it feels, that the terrans are way to strong and overpowered. But it is only the player, when we see, how good serral plays against other Terrans. Serral must find other tactics versus Maru. Great Finals.

Ye well played by Maru and a deserved win. I think the game is pretty balanced at the moment. As a Zerg player, all I would fix is the energy cost of snipes. The fact that Ghosts can stealth and snipe whole armies while on half energy doesnt feel right. Even more than Protoss with templars, Terrans lategame is completly centered around Ghosts. That said, Maru played the strengh of his race perfectly and he really deserved to win. Almost perfect and his defensive base layout gave me anxiety. I cant think of a way how Zerg can brake this effectivly without their opponents making mistakes.

A ghost CAN'T snipe 'whole armies while on half energy' Not even 15-20 ghosts can. Most high gas units take 2 snipes to kill so 20 Ghosts can kill 15-20ish units every 40 seconds or so. That's hardly an "entire army" and not even remotely 'OP'. Also, having 15 ghosts ipso facto means Maru doesn't have other units in their place. And Ghosts are actually fragile, move ahead of the army if not babysat cos they walk faster than most of the terran army and are hard to shift control: Hold fire/cloak/decloak/snipe/emp. Very susceptible to fungals and Broods and Overseers.

I've always found it a bit amusing, considering how mechanically good Serral generally is, that I haven't seen anyone else make that one accidental swarmhost as often as he does. Even during his victory march in 2018, it made him feel a bit more human. :-)

I've eaten both emu and ostrich and they're both really tasty. Tastes a lot like chicken, but instead of breaking down into meaty strips it breaks down into meaty chunks. When you see it you'll understand what I'm referring to. I recommend both meats. There was a shop not far from an old job of mine that did emu with a bourbon glaze, with rice and veggies. Dude sold emu instead of chicken because it's a lot cheaper by volume. Turns out it's also high in omega-3 which is good for you too. What I'm saying is, go out there and eat a god damn emu, PiG!! They're good!

Corect me if im wrong, but at the time serral had his big break through and started to be considered as the GOAT, werent broodlord infestor considered to be the most OP comp at the time. Before infested terrans got removed and broodlord range got nerfed aswell as thor range increased.

Serral got his anti-Korean fame more off his vs Protoss and vs Zerg from what I recall. He furthered an aggressive multi-tasking playstyle that I first saw out of Life way back in the day. Anytime Serral took a hit he was taking an even better trade elsewhere.

The problem is that while zerg can do all sort of nice attacks and tactics both in the early and mid game, as well as drag it to the late game, the only viable option for terran is to navigate perfectly through an ultra late game, which only Maru can do, and obviously can go wrong at any step of the process

As much as I can appreciate Serral for his overall mastery of late game Zerg, it'll never be as exciting as watching any other Zerg. I guess what makes his matches so good to watch is mostly because of his opponents. Not being a hater here, but I just never really liked Serral to begin with. Korean Zergs are so much fun to watch, especially Rogue simply because of how unorthodox he is. Reynor and Scarlett are my favortite none-Korean Zergs. I'm also very biased towards Terrans in general, except for a few that I don't enjoy much, like SpeCial: his style gives me headaches just watching.

All of this is fine and well, but there is one thing that Serral did that no gamer will ever do again and that is: Be the first to beat the Koreans at their own game. Serral completely changed the SC2 scene, before him it was just 'which Korean guy is going to win?'. Now there's a real competition going on, it's no longer Koreans vs. 'Foreigners'. It's a real international game now. I'm not sure if this will influence any other games like LoL, but Koreans monopolising a game is never good for anyone.

i know i´m just another noob, but i feel like serral could work on his lurker burrow micro, i feel like if he burrow creep em, he´d do much more, like burrow 4 and march with rest and then burrow another part etc. he always runs em all in a bulk and burrow em in bulk and i think those moves only cost him huge.

Serrel had many opportunities to significantly damage Maru's production with his Mutas but he doesn't do it. I notice that a lot with Pro players is there a reason for this? Would it not have been beneficial to at least take out those Ghost Academies making nukes?
