As you'd probably expect, when I saw Mora putting out something they called 'tactical', I was interested. I first saw this knife at Shot Show 2015 and was glad to hear about it from the Mora rep. But I wanted more, so I got it in hand and now you get to look at it as well. This knife is basically a More Bushcraft without the same sheath AND with serrations. The serrations are unique and might be found really useful by some users - check it out.

Serrations on the RIGHT side... nice!

+cyclist01222 OMG right! No one ever mentions that about serrations. They're on the wrong side on most knives!

+NewHampshire Bound Yeah. Serrations on the left side were meant for cutting food... bread for example. A right handed person would tend to slice bread fading to the right so serrations on the left side of the knife would help to straighten out the cut. This is not the case for outdoor knives. Righties need serrations on the right for working wood and such. Most companies screw this up and put them on the left side of outdoor knives... One of the saving graces for lefties LOL.

Many people complain that serrations are always on the wrong side but that is false, these Mora serrations for right handed folks will feel like pretty much a normal knife when doing most normal task. If used correctly serrations make awesome feather sticks and out perform on many tasks. Unfortunately this Mora is mainly made for just cutting rope and fibers with a saw like motion for right handers. But Lefty's would really like this knife or those who believe they are on the wrong side and never really have worked long enough with them to get the feel of the tool might like it. I challenge people to take a normal serrated blade and cut down the feather stick a couple times and look at the path or "grooves" the teeth make. Then flip the knife around left-handed and see that it leaves no grooves but only cuts deep missing the teeth completely🤔 Once I figured out how they worked and that not all serrations are created equal I now am a huge Geber Prodigy fan, cause their serrations don't have points, only nice curved grooves. I can now make hair like feathers that bunch up nice and firm within seconds and the sparks from your fire steel don't fall off into the dirt, plus the feathers don't blow away in the wind.😉 I plan on making a video of this cause many people have no idea what they are missing out on.

I like the Prodigy myself, but I don't have one with serrations. I do own a Scout Folder and I use the serrations all the time. When I trim plastic or tough materials I tend to cut towards myself, the way some people eat an apple (Blade towards thumb), so they work for me the way you are describing. Otherwise they work like saw teeth, which I also find useful, but your explanation has been very helpful and extremely enlightening.... truly eye opening. Now I see and understand the advantages of fine serrations, large simple serrations and right versus left sided placement. I make it work for me, but I now see the mistake or flaw with arbitrarily choosing one side over the other, as opposed to offering a choice to buyers.

I'm not a big serrations fan, but I do like the placement of these. I'm not sure I see it as a big leap over the Bushcraft Black, and I'm not sure it's worth the price difference for me, but good knife and good review.

Never been a fan of Mora knives, great quality for sure just nit a fan of the design, this version however isn't too bad. They're great knives at a even greater price, may have to pick one up. Thank you for the vid.

I have to put my 2 Canadian cents on this... the point of tactical is "stealthy"; nobody hears or sees it AND in this case of the MORA - light in weight. I have half a dozen Moras from the Eldris to Bushcraft Black - those 2 being in my bug out bag. I still have my Strong Arm on my person for sure - 2 is one, 1 is none, 3 is a son of a gun! But... I believe that a perfect blend of a 'tactical' Mora would be doing a combination of the lightweight feature of the Companion HD (somewhat thick and durable spine), an ED coat (and the 90degree spine) like what is on the Bushcraft Black, the steel from the Garberg, the serration from the SRT, and a re-design of a full tang AND finger guards from the Companion specification. The price between the $50-70 is gonna be the chicken dinner!!!

L.A. Untalan Carrying a Mora Pathfinder every day. Love it. Still designing the sheath and considering options, but this is my nature trail knife here in Oregon. Not this little guy but his bigger non serrated brother. I might get Veff serrations cut in, as I’m so close to Mr. Veff.

This is ridiculously small to be a serious tactical knife. Get the Pathfinder. I carry one. Yes, it’s a foot long. No, that’s not too big TO FIGHT WITH!

Never been a fan of serrations. They're always in the complete wrong space and have no real advantage. If anything serrations are inferior to a plain edge in every task. Serrations always bump up the price because it is harder to manufacture, waste of time and money IMHO. I would rather get a Bushcrafter any day. Very good review i must say, it was a good idea to test the knife on situations it may have been intended to complete, honestly didn't see that coming xD

Mora makes a rope knife with serrations on 3/4 of the blade. If I needed serrations I'd carry one of those. This knife? I'd roll that edge in 5 minutes of carving. That being said, Mora does the serrations differently than most. The serrations look to be part of the inclusive angle and not chisel ground, so they will clearly be stronger than most. They aren't too pointy and aggressive. And they're on the proper side (my righty opinion). I'm a fan of Mora, but I have to say their quality control is not exactly legendary. I have a LightMyFire version that came with an awful uneven grind. Even the grind on the cutouts near the belly are clearly uneven. I like em, but buy from a store so you can check the grind.

***** I like the Mora and I think it has a place. It keeps a good edge and is the right size for precision work and always has a place in the camp kitchen. For myself it's the right size and balance for utility use.
