Another great lesson to start the new year Matt. Thanks! Keep 'em coming. Any drills on technique of taking the ball early on the rise on both forehand and backhand? That would be very helpful. 👍

Thank you glad you enjoyed it! I wish had known about these exercises when I was a kid. When I started doing these daily during training my serve quickly went to another level and at that point I was already decent, meaning I had finished D1 college tennis. Overall the biggest improvement was on the mental side, I stopped OCDing about mechanics and that freed me up during practice giving me a care free attitude during that time. Hitting lanes instead of trying to get in the box all the time in itself does a lot of good stuff mentally for example. During actual game play my 1st serve percentage whent up dramatically and consistently stayed above 55% and no longer was I having the really bad serve days of say 20-40% so my level jumped as a server and I got good spikes without the big drops from day to day this was big for me as a player. Another cool thing this did for me was my second serve became a weapon and as time went I would very often start matches with it at as my 1st serve with the intention of testing my opponent trying to get my % into the 80-90%, this worked very well and I became very comfortable using second serves as 1st serves in match play. Holding serve became almost routine and very dependable which is what we see on TV with the best players in the world, those guys are going tournaments without dropping serves much, they are on another level but they do this type of training all the time as it is easy on the body and its an overall reduction in court time which is what they are trying to do, be on court less especially the older ones. By working this way on the serve it will transfer into other areas of the game like on the rise shots...they get easier to hit coming off your opponents return as your serve is better their return becomes weaker, so start first balls on top of baseline and aim them back down the middle but aggressively before you start to construct a point...make sense?

@@MattMunson Thanks Matt! Yes, this does make sense. Tried out these exercises on court this morning - totally relaxed feel, no tensions or frustrations about not making it in the box. Good stuff! 👍

@@SmashTheNumbers honestly I’m not a fan, I thought it would feel kinda like a babolat based off the specs but it doesn’t. I like the pro staffs
