As someone that used to do more fun building stuff in PvE servers, I love the idea of skins for bases. I used to build thematic survival mazes and would hunt players in them while dressed up. An adobe theme just fits with my minotaur+cleaver hunting outfit.

@@mechanicer3105 redo the way server wipes altogether - you can stav off wipe by beating increasingly harder rounds of scientists or you can induce the wipe any time by beating like 100 rounds of them. They won't do this but it would be cool

The idea of building skins is one of the very few DLC that I would be extremely interested in buying myself, though I hope that they will all be available in a bundle. I think its a great idea, because the rust landscape scattered with bases of just stone and wood is slightly boring, and some building skins will brighten up the place.

Base skins would be a nice welcomed change, though would of been nicer if you could just use spray can to change skins, instead of upgrading with hammer. Or just use the hammer to change the material without the added cost. But there will certainly be a lot of bases being camouflaged in various areas with skins being added, mud house in the desert would be great near some rocks, snow themed houses and forest themed.

thats not how rust works. as you come closer the base gradually renders in. you can abuse this tovsee internal structure etc

i mean some new roleplay featuers would go so well with the new building skins, i like the idea of being able to plant your own forest, maybe create some tier one monuments where we can gather "seeds" for fruit trees too! (abandoned farm or cabin in the woods). Also a nice big fire like a Bonfire would be a good feature, i mean it is good to have competitive rust but sometimes it's also good to be able to have a more chill interaction with other players.

Oh, it all connects with the space program thing. We the players are all test samples of an interstellar colony system, they need to make sure any new colony doesn't tear itself apart from psychosis. Which, if we go by gameplay, is still a ways off from being ready for use.

building skins will be the biggest patch to rust possible. don't make them cost extra materials to skin. make it take a certain tool for the different tiers. Like a chisel for stone, blowtorch for metal, use the hatchet to skin the wood.

When things in Rust are purely cosmetic, Theres usually something you can use the cosmetic for to get a leg up in the pvp game. For example, doors with holes and windows. I have a feeling there will be something.

@@KT22672 it's not about running rust. I normally get 100-120fps but in my village that goes down to 40-50 and the game only uses about 50% of my pc. My friend has a pc literally 3x as powerful and gets an extra 10fps. It's an optimisation/engine issue

DEAR RUST. Please add the ability to do these timers in your base, at outpost, and various safe zones. I also wish battlemetrics or just wiped would make a schedule showing all servers that wipe on various days. The amount of hours ive spent looking for a server to play with the boys thats fresh, or about to wipe I will never get back.
