A serious question: Is there any relationship between Service Items, and Items of type 'Service'? We are looking to grow into Service Management. In our current configuration, we have used 'traditional' Items of type 'Service'. I'm concerned this Item type was intended for use Service Management ...

docs.microsoft.com/en-US/dynamics365/business-central/inventory-about-item-types An item of type "service" is not necessarily related to "service items"…it's used for labour time units, like consulting (ie : billing consulting hours). See link attached.
