thanks man just replaced my entire center console... the shift module caused the car to die overnight. replaced it all and the shifter didnt want to turn on lol. watched your video and basically disconnected/reconnected a couple times and a couple of restarts and boom! shes alive 🙏🏽

If u have this problem try disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes without doing anything more, it worked for me

Man im currently having this problem on my 16 charger R/T. After i got the warning message my car got stuck in park and then the next day when i came out the car was acting like it was completely dead and the shifter was blinking all red

Yeah more than likely the shifter for sure then. I had to jump the car the first time I noticed the shifter wouldn't work

Replaced my batter , got new spark plugs and coil packs , new cam sensor,new throttle body. Imma try to replace shifter Nd transmission control module next god i hope this works. Ive nearly bought a new car

My shifter is moving to all gears but the car won't move (stuck in park) and the light is blinking red on shifter. Then it says put in park then switch to desired gear. i have a 2019. its pissing me off, i changed the shifter assembly at the bottom of the shifter, but now ima change the actual shifter.

My 16 300C just did this to me last week with the Tazer installed, (adept reset happened twice in 5 mins, wiped all the computers completely, like hitting the brakes turned the interior lights came on and passenger rear door opened lol.

So I had my shifter replaced due to this same message on my cluster, dealership did the work and about 1 week later the same error message came on and it left my car stuck in park. It’s currently dead and only starts when jumped… im not to sure what to do next as the dealership that did the job has now ghosted me and makes BS excuses when I try and book an appointment to get my warranty on the shifter they replaced… anyone experienced this issue after replacing shifter. It’s a 2016 charger scatpack R/T with about 108k miles now

@@renzridez at this point I’m going with their rival dealership and explaining what’s going on so that they can send the bill to the original dealership. Also didn’t mention that they replaced my transmission and had my car sitting for 9 months before they even started the work…. Then a month later the service shifter code started, they replaced shifter and car ran fine for about a week until it said service shifter and had lots of lights in my cluster turn on and then audible clicking noises coming from the shifter. Cars been dead since and that was in February of this year, the transmission ordeal started February of last year until they returned it around the second week of December 2022

@@FISBANGA well the dealership still doesn’t reach back to me after several attempts of getting it fixed. So I took matters into my own hands and fixed the issue. The dealership didn’t install my shifter properly and it created permanent DTC’s. I then went through the repair process and cleared the codes and have been driving it almost daily since November of 2023

I Kinda having the same issues I had the shifter as I put it in with the battery off then plugged the battery and it worked perfectly. Same day I drove it for 15 mins and parked it but when I went back to my car to turn it on the lights on the shifter wasn’t working no more. So right now I unplugged my battery as I’m waiting 24 hours to see if anything happens

Yes this happened to me, had the battery replaced but it would happen every now and again, it was basically loosening the connections every time I drove it which would give me no current to the battery

Man bro my 2016 scatpack challenger is doing this I'm gonna change the shifter myself I don't want the dealership dicking me around this seem to be the thing I been hearing to do mostly to the 15, 16, models chargers and challenger..... so basically change the shifter plug the new one in and unplug the battery 30mins and thats it???

@@renzridez thank you, i got a 2018 Daytona. Having the same issue as sometimes the car wont start and when it does, it starts as if the battery is dead and i get the service shifter light. I changed the shifter and unplugged the battery for 30 min, still having the same issue..taking it to the dealer today for diagnostic. Will let you know if problem was something different. After it is fixed, definitely getting them body kits 😍

Make sure that you have all the doors closed because it will cause that message too. And won’t let you put in any gear.

My 2015 rt drives shifts feels fine though when idling I hear a scraping/clunking noise coming from the shifter area. My problem with my car is that it randomly stalls out “shift to p the. Desired gear” I’ve noticed it does it once or twice then my car drives totally fine. Though this is very dangerous since it gave me that error in the free way and I had to pull to the side and pretty much start up my car pretty concerning. I’ve recently changed my drive shaft assuming that was the problem but nope. If anyone has any idea what it is or has had it fixed plz reply asap thanks!!

Check the harness connecting to the gear position and indicator modules. On my RAM the harness running up the steering column and into the cluster related to these components has an erratic connection.. Probably the classic Chrysler connection pins making poor contact. You may have just coincidentally moved the harness connections enough to get a good connection. And the shifter was fine the whole time.. Let us know what happened "down the 🛣️" haha

It happen every year this my last dodge to be honest.I spent way to much money fixing issues on 2 basically brand new cars an 1 having driving on the road in the 2017 dodger charger rt+ you go over 75 or 80 the car cuts on an off yeah! On in off an the 2nd 2013 charger car stuck in park😡My last dodge.Scotty the car guy might be on to something.

Sounds like a fleet governor most smaller vehicles after 96 had some type of speed limiter many vehicles I've owned had it around 82 miles an hour. I believe it's an option in the program for fleet type vehicles should be able to be disabled with the proper programmer did you ever figure out that particular issue
