Services Dog's First Zoo Trip! ll Vlog 2021

The Zoo is a hard outing for a service dog that has never been before. This day contained a lot of training and paying attention to Sirius! Overall he did amazing, along with Barry (@barry.allen.sd on instagram).

I visited this zoo several years ago while on vacation before I got my service dog. Thank you for this video it brought up a lot of good memories when I had forgotten most of them due to memory loss. I LOVE Okapi and can spend an hour watching them. The elephant exhibit is amazing and I regret not spending more time watching them. I go to the Houston Zoo about 1x a month and those are the areas I spend the most time in. The Chimps at the Houston Zoo have major reactions to the dogs as well. Surprisingly the Meerkats love dogs and are always wanting to be with them.

When it’s 2 am and you can sleep because your service dog comes home from his training program in 14 days. (He comes to me not fully trained but enough to start public access and such. I just have to polish the tasks and stuff)

How did you get into the zoo if Sirius is in training? I've read on the San Diego Zoo website that they will only allow fully trained service dogs onto the premises

there may be some places with loose animals which could cause issues for those animals or the dog! that would be my best guess

well in zoos there places where the dog might be a stresser for said animal (like gorillas or tigers etc)
