If you turn your phone to film horizontally you won't cut off 3/4 of the screen.

Not really a diy job, messing with vaporising burners can be tricky.

It's actually extremely simple, and you'd have to do something really daft for there to be any danger. That said, there's something of black art about it, arising mainly from the paucity of descriptive literature. It took me a long time to know how to control high fire and low fire. Adjusting the height of oil in the burner is extremely awkward on my Aga (it's done by adjusting three studs beneath the oil control valve, which I can neither reach nor see easily). One needs to be able to check the level in the burner, if adjusting. When I used service engineers, they always cemented in the cauldron lid, and if I didn't, oil escaped and burned where it shouldn't, so I had to do the same. it's only recently occurred to me to grind the surfaces flat with paste, which has removed the chore of having to keep some fire cement. My Aga actually needs next to no maintenance, and even less adjustment. The main problem is the carbonising in the cauldron, the pipe immediately underneath, and it only takes me a few minutes to do, apart from allowing it to cool, but not too much; I've found that it's a good idea to maintain it and relight before the flue has cooled. However, I've lately discovered that the oil passage ways in the burner are partly blocked. I'm still trying to think of a way of clearing them properly, but it's taken 50 years to get that way.

@@colinelliott5629Did you find a good way of cleaning the radial oil channels?
@colinelliott56297 ай бұрын
@@petermartin5030 Not really. I use a stout bit of wire bent so as to be able to be inserted, with which to scrape it out. The outer ones are awkward.

I ended up cleaning the radial oil channels with a long screw through a perpendicular strip of woid as a handle, plus a thin, flexible hacksaw blade.
