Servicing the FITV (fast idle thermo valve) on a fifth generation (1994 - 1997) Honda Accord

where is this on the vehicle, does it require taking off throttle body to see?? is it on the throttle body? got a 96 accord v6 cant find it

Mine was a 4 cylinder so the location of yours might be different. I suggest tracing your coolant path as the FITV functions with it.

Oh and the part on the throttle body is called the Idle Air Control Valve. Both should be serviced if you’re restoring a Fifth generation accord.

i have a 94 accord 4 cyl, and it's right next to the idle air control valve, center of the car, by the firewall. the fitv is tucked a bit under, you can't see it just by looking

@@cryeredd7563 Awesome. Literally been trying to find my weird idle. Might have to replace this and see if that solves it. Literally changed a ton of parts too.

@@asianjohnwick some say you can clean it. Tho I haven't had luck w that. Others say if you tap on it w something like the end of a screwdriver, while it is doing the funky idle.. that it may go away... and if it does, you have identified the problem

Mine the valve itself dosent move anymore even with 200 degree celcius. I just osed the valve cover complettely no air allowed trough it and problem solved temporairely, till i buy new oem new one it vost 100 dollar.
