If you don't enjoy the theatricals, then that's fair enough. The goldfish is supposed to make you think what everyone commenting here is saying: "What the fuck, am I eating that?" and then you see that the edible piece of fish is something else. The toast with headphones is the recreation of the chef's childhood memory of watching Beverly Hills 90210 and eating toast after school. You listen to the song while you eat it, and that's it. The next course comes quickly after.

I've been to places like this before not this spot in the video though but that is what it is. An experience. Can't go and do this everyday unless you can afford it.

I think Gordon isn't into these types of fine dining. He's more into traditional gourmet food like fillet mignon, steaks, burgers, risottos and the like. Noma is one of the best restaurants in the world and they serve food similar to these like Ants, Duck brain, Duck legs and the like, Noma's owner Rene Redzepi said that Gordon hated it there, but atleast he was nice about it. Restaurants like these aren't really there for the taste only, they're there also for the shock and the experience that a person gets.

I must admit the heart with blood was a bit disturbing and disgusting in terms of presentation, but then I am sure the taste was mind-blowing. In this kind of degustation menu the customer needs to open its mind and try to enter to that of the chef. This is not a place for those who only want to post some cool IG stories. It's a 5-sense experience (maybe a 6-sense one) which involves feelings and thoughts. I would love to be able to be there.

Jason Chiang the brain is actually very good when you get past the idea of what you’re eating. The woodlice are rather flavorless, and more about the crunchy textures. All dishes at the Alchemist, no matter how crazy the presentation, did taste good :)
