Servo linkage and control horn setup

is the offset on this particular example in the video due to the fact that your control horn isn't perfectly centered over the hinge line? it looks like your connection point on the control horn is slightly rudder side of the hinge. subsequently your servo mid point is slight rudder side of 90* on the servo. if the hinge point were perfectly centered, you should also be at 90, right?

You'd be close, but if you really want it perfect you'd still use a protractor and find the exact center that you need. But it's kind of academic because the reason they don't go Center is you limit your travel of the surface too much. But, yes you are correct. 😁

So you moved your control horn from the factory location instead of just centering the servo? You may have equal degrees of travel but your resolution from right to left wont be the same. Which means at half stick in one direction you get over half travel, and half the other direction will be under half, doesnt make it wrong if thats how you like it.

Interesting but, being just a beginner in the field, I find that your demonstation lacks a lot of detail to give proper understanding of the principles involved, I have not been flying RC planes for 21 years but I've been teaching in a technical college for 20 years and I have found that explanations have to be done in two or three clearly illustrated ways for a group of people to understand them. Just showing some part of your plane and talking and talking does not cut it as a teaching video my friend. Do it again if you really want to teach something.

Hey, you said I'm interesting, that's good enough for me. haha I've always thought it would be cool to do an animated presentation... but ain't nobody got time for that. As far as it goes, if you (second person plural) follow me, you'll figure all of this out. But, the majority really don't care anyway. haha
