I am a novice/amateur decoy carver. Thank you, Tom, for your excellent videos on duck carving. I have bookmarked all 15-16 of your tutorials on how to carve a mallard drake and preening hen. The latter has stimulated me to attempt my first preening deek. I have used many of your techniques to improve my craft. You are a patient and excellent teacher!

Thanks for your note Daniel. That is great and I hope you are enjoying your preening carving challenges. Sounds like you are!

@@tomchristieart I don't own a band saw, so getting the proper angle to the reverse oriented head to mimic preening was a bit of challenge. I had to use my boredom tool and lots of hand sanding on the duck head's base to get a acceptable head to body fit. Hopefully, employment of you video that incorporated the use of plastic wood/acetone filler will do the trick?

That should work Daniel.

Another very well explained video. Thank you. Do you know Paul Foytack out of Michigan? He would come down to Jim Wilsons and we the students would have two instructors. We have no instructors that I know of in Northwest Ohio, anymore, so I am very happy to have your videos that we can watch and refer back to over and over if needed. Thank you again.
