And, was born initially in the physical form of a male. He can merely change his physical configuration on a whim. Which really doesn't mean anything. . If they lost or won in a different way, the TVA would intervene so everything follows the script. So basically, if Dr. Strange used the stone to kill Thanos the TVA would kill him and reset the timeline (remember the TVA said that the avengers travelling through time was supposed to happen so none Nexus events occurred). I have the theory that the multiverse Dr. Strange refers to are just "layers" of reality itself, and the multiverse we all talk about is like alternate timelines

@@ivans.5959 You are very confused. The TVA doesn't (or rather, cannot) control every aspect of the time in order to prevent the mere existence of the multiverse. Their only purpose is to avoid more multiversal wars, that means they don't need to reset every current alternate timeline, except those who could evolve in something dangerous for them. Mobius himself said it in chapter 2: "there are infinite branches". So, neither the Time Keepers nor their lackeys can prevent space-time from fluctuating. If they were able to do that, there wouldn't be such things as variants, in the first place. Btw, a multiverse is a multiverse in every aspect of the word. Those layers you mentioned are dimensions, which are just portions of each reality/universe. In other words, every timeline not only has its own version of the Earth, but its own Dormammu's realm, heaven, Asgard, astral plane, mirror dimension, etc.

These movies tend to make characters as powerful or weak as the plot requires though I wish they’re a bit more consistent. E.g. for the main Loki, within the last few days, he caught an arrow fired by Hawkeye without even needing to look, then got hulk smashed but seemed largely recovered within hours (and also fought Capt America one on one a day or 2 earlier). He should be able to handle a few punches, kicks and grapples from a mind controlled human without problems.

I think it lines up with last episode though. Loki came to terms with the fact that he doesn't like to hurt people, but rather he does it to maintain the illusion of control. In a way, at the end of ep 1 he surrenders that illusion and accepts the TVA as the greater power. THAT said, I agree with you! He's going to learn about the TVA from Lady Loki and unleash his powers.

Fun fact: Loki (the myth the character is based on) gave birth to an eight legged horse, because he was a filly at the time. Speculation: If time variants are usually pruned as soon as they deviate from the sacred timeline, how did female! Loki survive to even grow up? Wouldn't the TVA have stopped her before she even had any chance of evading them? And if not would her variance not have already crossed red line shortly after? I don't get how variants can be so very different from their counterparts if too much variance already disrupts the sacred timeline? Possible implication: There is no sacred timeline. It doesn't exist. The time keepers are hiding the existence of the multiverse and trying to erase it. But the mere existence of variants that split from their originals in the sacred timeline at birth (and being much older than the redline would render possible) implies that there is no sacred timeline, The timekeepers just favor one over the others. Fun Fact 2: Loki is canonically genderfluid in the comics, which is a nod to the fact that he frequently operates in female guises in Norse mythology, as well as giving birth to horses.

I think our Loki is still good and he fibs to make his plans work out. We saw his reaction to the future he didn't live. He probably wants to try to convince the Time Keepers to keep his family and the Asgardians alive or change history, so he can be the hero he's always wanted to be... We saw how he reacted in Ragnarok as the savior (hah!). On the flip side, this Lady Loki is the extreme version of his chaotic nature. Everything our Loki says makes sense from her stand point. Order is boring, the frustration of how things are set in stone. She just wants chaos. She wants to end the keepers and knows that causing chaos like this is how to get an audience with them, and maybe that's when she'll attack. Maybe in her timeline a similar event happens and she's just going about it more aggressively. My entire planet got destroyed? Well I'm gonna tell the TVA to suck it, or destroy them, or hold them hostage until they meet my demands, etc... Things got crazy here and our Loki's still playing the game. He knows Mobius is now over his head, and though his intentions aren't to double cross the TVA, probably thinks that if he can fix this, it'll make his case even better. 🤷

Mythology Note: Loki in Norse myth was genderfluid. They are the mythological Mother of Monsters, and is also the father of a few Apocalypse tier monsters to boot, on top of mothering the "evils" of the world. Love how Loki is playing both Loki and Mobius for fools, AND getting to see Loki using more of their comic book magic is Amazing. Personal spoiler theory based on the cameo during the cartoon in Episode 1 + All of Episode 2 (biggest spoiler has been removed): Blonde Loki's resetting the Time Keepers (specifically where in time to find them and when they are), Restoring the Multiverse by changing the path the ones who destroyed it before it happened, AND, (since one of the Time Keepers is a version of, [so big a spoiler that I won't post it here,]) Creating the Greatest threat that the MCU has ever seen.

So, this is most likely what's going on... . In the beginning, the war almost destroyed existence. The Time-Keepers didn't bind everything into one timeline...but they did bundle a bunch of similar timelines together into one. Doing so isolated that new super-timeline from the rest of the multiverse, in an effort to prevent the cosmic destruction of everything. Even if the rest of the multiverse did destroy itself, the Sacred Timeline would survive. This event may have also changed the distribution of other timelines, as they all rearrange their relative locations to fill the void left by the Time-Keepers' actions. It would've given reality an insurance policy, and possibly made it impossible to effectively wage war across the multiverse. Personally, I choose to believe the Time-Keepers themselves did act altruistically, and not with the actual intent that everyone's lives should be set in stone from beginning to end. . Unfortunately, that's a pretty monumental task, so they were probably left very weakened afterward. So, they create the TVA to manage things for them. The Sacred Timeline, being an amalgamation of multiple timelines brought into synchronicity, has to be maintained because it naturally wants to go out of sync. When it does, a variant forms who causes a Nexus event that leads to a branching of the timeline. The "redline" is the point where a new branch has expanded beyond the protected zone and joined the multiverse at large. . Even more unfortunate, is the fact that the individuals running the TVA are apparently fallible humans. Maybe not exactly human, but definitely not divine or even semi-divine entities. They're mortal, and flawed, like anyone. What seems to have happened is that someone has corrupted the TVA from within, Hydra-style. The Time-Keepers may be dead, though I think it's more likely they're being held captive in their weakened state. The corrupt leadership of the TVA is keeping them like the Precogs from Minority Report, using their powers to enforce a timeline that benefits that corrupt leadership. . Lady Loki may have uncovered that plot, at least partially, hence her wish to apparently break the Sacred Timeline and potentially destroy the TVA and Time-Keepers. I think that, as the investigation progresses, Moebius and Loki will uncover the truth themselves, and, without trying to destroy the timeline, at least try to undo the corruption of the TVA, and possibly try to save or at least humanely euthanize the Time-Keepers. . As it is, it appears that Lady Loki's plan to get rid of the problem involves time-bombing the Sacred Timeline so that it's forced back into the multiverse at large. That would functionally eliminate the power of the TVA, as everything would then be outside their capacity to deal with. No amount of pruning after that would ever fix things. The Sacred Timeline would unravel and all its threads would reintegrate into the morass of the multiverse. Which would nicely set up everything everyone is expecting of the multiverse in Phase 4. . But, that's just my hypothesis.

If Loki had stayed he'd probably have been disintegrated by the TVA for failing the mission so I don't think he had any choice but to run.

I'm wondering if the female variant is even 'the bad guy'. The whole 'timeline war' thing in the TVA propaganda doesn't seem very likely to me. I mean, how much travel between timelines would there even be, much less actual conflict? I'm thinking that the Time Keepers were the real villains who destroyed a near infinite number of living creatures when they destroyed the multiverse in pursuit of their creepy "sacred timeline". And then the TVA continued to murder whole universes of people every time they 'reset' one of the new timelines that start to branch.

In fact, it's not actually "female Loki" who we see. It's another character from comics, Sylvie Lushton, the Enchantress, who gained her powers because of Loki But the character is still not confirmed in the series, so who knows, maybe this still is "female Loki") (but the Enchantress seems kinda more reasonable to me)

That fight between Varient Loki and the possessed guy, although it was cool, it Did *NOT* Make Any Type Of Sense, because Loki has Super-human strength, and that was just a *REGULAR* Guy that Lady Loki possessed, so that did not make much sense to me. The *ONLY* way that that would make sense is if the powers of Lady Loki were retained by the person that she possessed, like super-human strength, agility, magic, etc., like the possessed retains some of Lady Loki's powers

Loki does NOT have super strength. He is just durable. Have you not watched the MCU movies? Everything isn’t going to be comic accurate

@@Usthereout He held his own against Captain America for a bit in Avengers. Of course that was before they really upped Cap's power level. Loki did take a severe trashing from the Hulk without this resulting in him turning into a red smear on the floor or even any broken bones or bruises.

@@Carabas72 In _Avengers I_ Loki is unfazed by full power punches from Cap whom, nerfed or not, was certainly stronger than the possessed guy. I gave leeway to the fight with Hunter B-15 in the previous episode but this seemed kind of lame.

She probably is Lady Loki but the actor is miscast. Lady Loki is tall, pale with that long black hair. She's got some style and sass. Not feeling it. But I would like to seen our Loki get the proper respect and show his true capabilities.
