Nothing is wasted with this show; every single scene is as captivating and well-done as the last. Every shot and special effect is immaculate. Every single actor is giving it their all. As you described it, the whole thing is phenomenal. It seems almost genuinely criminal to me that so many people are sleeping on this show, or that it’s not getting the same acclaim as other Star Wars media. I’m at least glad that pretty much every reaction I’ve seen to Andor has been giving it all the praise it deserves.

Couldn't have said it better myself. To me, it's the best live action Star Wars I've ever seen. That being said, the lower ratings was always going to happen, the subject matter isn't at the popularity level that could bring a more mainstream audience. But strong word of mouth will come back as people will binge this series in the future.

I half expected that Luthen would simply jam the Imperial frequencies causing them to lose the bleeps, lose the sweeps, and lose the creeps. And knowing Luthen, he is most certainly a man who would DARE give the Imperials the raspberry.

This is the "Bladerunner" of Star Wars Nobody, but NOBODY, watched Bladerunner when it first came out - it was a HUGE flop at the box office ... Now - rightly lauded as one of the greatest movies in science-fiction history The same will be true of Andor - historically, it represents a transition period to a more story/character driven Star Wars ... an evolution To accentuate the point, both Ahsoka and Acolyte - that both went down the tried-and-tested Disney Star Wars route - have failed Everyone can't wait for the final season of Andor - finally, a Star Wars show that everybody wants to see! (unlike the first series - lol ... which makes its achievement all the more remarkable)

Fun Fact: The ship at 10:26 is called “Cantwell-class Arrestor Cruiser”. Colin Cantwell, a concept artist who designed spacecraft for Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, pitched the design to George Lucas for use in the movie (1977). Its original name was “Sith Carrier” and the dishes on its sides were intended to be used to destroy various ships. The idea was later adapted for the superlaser weapon of the Death Star. The ship also appears in the movie Solo: A Star Wars Story, but only in the deleted scenes.

The "countermeasures" Luthen used were just small (or large, depending on perspective) metal needles launched in clusters. That's why he suddenly "slammed on the gas" so they'd jack up the power of their tractor beam to keep him in place. With a tractor beam at full power, it yanked on all those metal needles directly toward the dish at full force. They would've (and did) hit like a fleet of fuckin trucks.

The "I gave them Aldahny. What have you done lately?" seemed like an epic burn until we heard the retort. "For me there is no 'lately'. There is only 'always'" [I'm paraphrasing]. Who would have thought that a show could make me care about and even cry for a robot who misses his master? This show is amazing, and that Luthen space battle is one of the coolest ones I've ever seen in Star Wars.

I think Andor is a highlight of what Lando said in The Rise of Skywalker (not saying the movie was good, just making a reference to a line from it). When Poe asks him how they did it, a rag-tag handful of misfits standing against the Empire, and Lando replies, "We had each other." Right now, the Rebels are broken, isolated, and paranoid. And while in these early days, that's perhaps necessary to save themselves, they don't really start making gains until they openly rebel as a collective. It's Scarif and Yavin that really cement them as an Alliance, and where they begin actual open warfare against the Empire. And then finally there's the battle at Endor (during which, aside from the Death Star, they actually hold their own pretty goddamned well, all things considered). Hope is what a rebellion is built on. Unity is what wins the fight. You can't win freedom by fighting for your own. You only win freedom by fighting for someone else's.
@martinjrgensen82342 жыл бұрын
Everyone is going to be on Ferrix for that funeral and it is going to end up with a massive riot and rebellion. I think seeing the prison, having his mother die and seeing what they did to Bix is what drives Cassian to join the rebellion as a believer in the cause.

Melshi is the man that escaped with Andor, Luthen's ship is a modified Fondor Haul-craft, with micro-missles/metal stakes that when pulled in by a tractor beam can shread the emmiter to pieces, and it had light-saber type slicer beams that that can also slice through Tie-Fighters or any other ships hull

WHAT IF luthen is Kento Marek? He and his wife left the Order before order 66 and his son became STARKILLER ... "I share my dreams with ghosts. I wake up every day to an equation I wrote 15 years ago from which there’s only one conclusion: I’m damned for what I do. My anger, my ego, my unwillingness to yield, my eagerness to fight, they’ve set me on a path from which there is no escape. I yearned to be a savior against injustice without contemplating the cost, and by the time I looked down, there was no longer any ground beneath my feet."

The ISB is about to have a lead on Luthen's identity. They have a recording of his voice from that encounter with the arrestor cruiser, and Syril knows his voice. I think Syril is going to end up running into ISB agent Dedra and make an ID from that recording. I get the feeling Bix is going to make a false ID, convincing the Imperials that this Kreegyr guy is Axis, and we're going to have this situation where the ISB hierarchy believes they got Axis, but Dedra believes he's still out there.

I didn’t think about the funeral being held (maybe I thought it was done already) and Cassian + the other characters possibly converging at Ferrix all at once… And I don’t know if anyone might have thought this same thing, but for some reason, I’ve had the feeling (since ep 1), and still do, that Cassian will eventually place B2EMO’s programming/essence into who eventually becomes K2SO next season - the loyalty and demeanor of each respective droid towards Cassian is just so similar; if Cassian is indeed headed back to Ferrix, a reunion is inevitable.

"I d-don't want to be alone. I want M-maarva." Most commonly, droids are fitted with restraining bolts and regularly wiped of their memory to prevent the development of attachments or other idiosyncrasies in their operation. In most official capacities, droids owned and operated by companies or government institutions, these measures are legally required. In domestic scenarios, it's mostly optional, but culturally frowned upon if one doesn't do so. To my current knowledge, Artoo and Bee are the only two droids that don't seem to have ever had even one wipe to their memories. And they're correspondingly much more endearing and relatable as a result. Which...is the point. Droids can become people...but they're legally prevented from doing so. Hence L3-37's (mostly silly, in its presentation) "crusade" for droids' rights, in Solo: A Star Wars Story.

11:55 this is likely our last hint that Luthen’s a Jedi. I feel like this series has been telling us this since we met the guy without actually saying it. He loaned Andor his Kyber crystal on Aldani, and I’m sure I was the only one asking “is he a Jedi” when we saw it, but we all dismissed soon afterwards. Luthen’s monologue with Lonnie last week, about his sacrifices: calm, kindness, kinship and love-love isn’t something we normally associated with Jedi, but love doesn’t have to be towards a person; all Jedi were passionate about their code. Luthen talked about damning his soul so that others could live-he’s had to do some very unsavory things to survive for 15 years, and this series showing us how he could throw a person away like Andor and Krieger are mere examples of what he’s had to do. He told Lonnie that he’s condemned to use the tools of his enemy so that he could make a sunrise that he’ll never see for others to thrive. Palpatine couldn’t be himself either. He hid in plain sight pretending to be someone that he wasn’t and it worked out great for him…it’s working pretty well for Luthen too…so far anyway. The man said that he shares his dreams with ghosts. I originally thought he was being figurative, but with Force Ghosts are a thing, he might have meant that literally. The Jedi Order as he knew it was gone, and he, like every other Jedi, had to adapt to survive. The urge to help is what has done so many in as we saw in Obi-Wan, Rebels, etc. Luthen wanted to reach out two episodes ago, and Keyla pushed back-is she another Jedi, his padawan? Luthen’s walking stick is likely more than it seems, and his flying skills a quick reflex’s reminded me of Pod Racing, Anakin really. I’m convinced that he’s a Jedi doing what he can to help, and he’s building a rebellion.
