Andor is the best Star Wars ever. Yeah I said it. It beats everything else when it comes to writing and acting. It is gripping, heart moving, tense, exciting and just astonishing. We see regular people, like you and me rise up. I was eating lunch while watching this, and completely forgot my food.i was just staring open mouthed, shivering and crying. And that post credit scene was peotry. You can also see Luthen being moved and surprised. To him the rebellion had been behind the scenes, and here he sees Walmart employees rebel, with nothing to fight with.

I never in a million years thought I'd feel empathy for Perrin, but that scene with Mon Mothma accusing him of gambling to plant the seeds of a cover story for the misdirected money made me feel a bit sad for him because he really seems surprised about the accusation and it seems that he has in fact kept his promise to her to stay away from gambling. This show does such a good job at giving you nuanced characters, like that scene at the end where Syril saves Dedra and she's a nervous wreck. Suddenly her job became real to her because it was her life on the line and not just other people's she doesn't care about and barely registers as real people, and her cold emotionless and unflappable badass ISB agent facade was totally forgotten for the time being.
@EACru20022 жыл бұрын
Perrin is a douche, but the show shows he’s still human. Whereas most other shows devolve characters into caricatures, this show makes sure to show everyone is three dimensional. Even last week, the show went out of its way when Mon mentioned that Perrin wasn’t pushing his daughter into her fundamentalism and is surprisingly open minded about her following or not following traditions. And truth be told, yes, Perrin is a bit of a douche and her daughter is a bit of a brat. But Mon Mothma IS a neglectful wife and mother. They’re not acting the way they do because they’re purposely trying to scheme against her. They are just naturally closer to each other because Mon isn’t there for them. Granted, WE know it’s because she’s trying to save the galaxy and that’s a pretty justifiable reason lol. But regardless of how noble the reason is, it still means from her unknowing family’s perspective, she just seems unusually cold and distant to them.

Got the impression that Luthen went to church in this episode. For all that time he's been the one organizing, convincing, cajoling others into recognizing the threat of the Empire. All that time, energy and fear of discovery spent organizing for a theoretical rebellion which he was unlikely to see to fruition. For that one, unexpected moment he was forced to sit-up and take notice ... and damn Marva was really speaking his language.

Re: Syril & Dedra: I'm reminded of a line from Angel:the Series, years ago, about another very iffy relationship: "I don't like where this is going. I don't even like where it's *been.*" Because Syril is a Romantic, capital R, and somehow, Dedra and the Empire are going to let him down someday, and then what? And Dedra? Is *SCARED*. Of people getting too close, of being out of control, of emotions, I don't know what, but this is not something she was looking for. She was low-key freaking out when Syril tracked her down to make that little declaration outside her office, and her knee-jerk reaction was to threaten him. That's not gonna change with him saving her life-- there is a lot going on there, and whenever I look at her, I think of what Nemik said now-- oppression masks fear. "Power doesn't panic." She's managed not to panic all this time, but what will she do if she's pushed too hard? Ahem, just had to get that off my chest. Love your re-watches and reviews, thanks for doing this one before every scatters for the long weekend, hope you have a good drive, and was it just me, or was Diego Luna looking unreasonably and amazingly heroic throughout this entire episode? Wow. *applauds everything else too, but that's a much longer essay*

Maybe the most impactful post-credit scene ever. The thing that the Empire imprisoned all these people to build, that the Empire’d rather kill those prisoners than let them get out and talk, were the components used to build the laser for the Death Star. Cassian literally built the components, possibly the EXACT components in that beam, that go on to kill him. Damn.

An amazing finish to the season. Cassian joins up to fight the Empire. IT's great the way they told this season with our return to Ferrix. Maarva's speech was incredible and Luthen's look as he listened you could tell was impacting him. Unfortunately a lot of citizens died and we'll see what the repercussions are like going forward. Syril saving Dedra was amazing as well. Her reaction to almost being torn apart by an angry mob just showed that she's human. I think Syril got his reward. :p
