‘Set to get worse’: Trump's former defence advisor’s warning on Taiwan

Former US deputy assistant secretary of defence Elbridge Colby warns things are only going to get “worse” between China and Taiwan following Beijing's announcement it was conducting military drills near the island.
The drills come days after Taiwan inaugurated its new President Lai Ching-te, who Beijing calls a separatist.
“The situation around Taiwan continues to be very dangerous and not getting any better,” Mr Colby said.
“Things are bad and, unfortunately, I think they're set to get worse.”

The Taiwan strait war or current Ukraine war may cause big trouble to US when US get involved directly in either of the wars: currently US nuclear warheads are around 3700 vs Russia 5600. China nuclear warheads are estimated at 2000-3000. Assume it is 2500 for China. Combined nuclear warheads for Russia and China are 8100 vs US 3700. Combined territory for Russia and China are 27 mil sqkm2 vs US 9.6 mil sqkm2. This means if nuclear war start , it is high likely US will lose the war.
