"Setahun tak contact, kami ditakdirkan bertemu untuk kali pertama di Tanah Suci" - Ain & Ashraff

"It was 2020 during Covid that i met Ashraff on Muzz. He was in Singapore and we just maintained a daily conversation throughout the pandemic, knowing that we could not meet anytime soon. We became close friends and couldn’t wait for the borders to open.
The pandemic finally came to an end and borders between Malaysia and Singapore opened, however much to my dismay Ashraff did not come over to meet me as he said he would. Work and schedule constraints did not allow us to meet, and eventually our relationship died and we stopped communicating. Although we maintained being friends on social media.
Fastforward to 2023, i came to know through IG that Ashraff was going to Hajj. And i was also going that same year. Fate would have it that we were both going, although with our own countries. Never had we planned this (how could we since we were no longer in touch with eachother). So Ashraff messaged me before he was leaving for Hajj, to ask for forgivenes. This was the first time in more than a year that he messaged me. I then told him that i was going too and asked him to forgive me too. So from there we started to message each other again, while both on our hajj journeys.
As for how we eventually met… On the day of Arafah, the peak of Hajj. Again fate would have it, Ashraff’s maktab(camp) was exactly opposite mine! We could not have planned this, but there we were with an opportunity to meet among the millions of other people there. So we managed to meet for a brief 15 mins outside our camp. We couldnt believe that we would eventually meet, and of all places at this holy place. Alhamdulillah..
After we got both completed our Hajj, we returned to our countries and started to seriously consider marriage. He came and met my family in Kuala Lumpur and we made preparations for our engagement and nikah.
We got married on 4th May 2024. And we are still maintaining a long distance relationship for now.
We would like to thank Muzz for being the platform for us and many other couples to meet their soulmates. It’s true, we have to put in the effort and trust in Allah SWT."
