Iva Lindsay - does it say in the book about the three things a man had to do to be a Red Branch Knight ? 1. Run through a wood without breaking a twig. 2. Jump over what he could walk under. 3. Fight a man in a pit who had a staf. ??

Maeve of Connacht had a "Norn" accent. Now that's a new twist in this fantastical tale of ancient Gaelic heroes and lore.

the Ancient capital of Ulaid ?! Emain Macha ( in english navan fort ). just a few minutes west of armagh city. I have been in Emain Macha once and newgrange twice. I most vist the hill of Tara. Everywhere on the Island of Ireland is Ancient but my Parish has a lot of very old monuments: raths ( Lios ) 32, Standing Stones in a lot of the Townlands, Cairns, one Dolmen, three Cranno`g's, plus a 1300 A.D. Monstery ( destroyed by foreigners ) and the Old road linking antrim to Tara. in my Parish there is a three ringed ( x3 ditches ) Lios (rath) approx. 100 Metres in diameter. a great battle occured in 332 A.D. in the Parish. west ulaid fought east ulaid and east lost, thus the 100 Metre lios was not the Anicent capital of ulaid but the winners Emain Macha. west ulaid might have been called in english Oriel ?!!

Brilliant job. You were spot on with this story. The only little detail is to be careful about the pronunciations. Saytanta Great-Grammy said it is pronounced like Shay-dan-da. I do know that pronunciation changes and there is a historical debate but my family originates from Ulster and Great-Grammy lived to be 101 years old. It could be an issue of dialect but I grew up on these stories and this is what I was told. As far as the story goes, this brought back some wonderful memories for me and you have no idea how much of a thrill this was for me. Thank you so much for doing this! Five stars, really brilliant!

You are correct, he had an over-all red glow, but his hair was actually a fiery ombre mix of brown, red, and blonde. "The heat of his body could melt snow and ice for yards around. He glowed red and when he dipped his body in water the water hissed and turned to steam. His beautiful hair was tri-colored. Next to his skin the hair was brown, in the middle it was red and on the outside long golden yellow curls fell freely down his back." Also, to expound upon Tiocfaid ár lá- our day will come. So as it turns out, the best way to say that is actually: Beidh ár lá linn- our day will be with us. 26+6=1 #Think32
