Good to hear this. I did heroin and had dark times for awhile. It was all self induced tho. After like a decade I looked myself in the mirror and said I fucked up instead of blaming my addiction. I told myself it's time to be responsible for my life and make no excuses. I didn't follow 12 steps or anything. I just stood close to family and some friends and put in the work and had faith in myself and the process. I started taking pride in my work. I didn't feel sorry for myself. I said it's time to keep moving forward. Anyways two years later sober. I doubled my hourly wage, got a good engineering job, payed off all debt, saved 20 grand, got in good shape. I still smoke weed and have an odd beer and people from AA called me crazy but I said I know what I want and I will get there!! Where there is a will there is a way. Thanks for the message. Hard work pays off!
