Great review, spot on, the only thing I'd add is that the Zoom is very specific in that it dictates your form and speed, unless you're running under 6.45 they begin to feel progressively worse as pace drops. At about 6.30 and under they really start to come alive. 3 of us have all taken minutes of our halves with these shoes, beasts in the right conditions!

I'm around 240/300 km on this shoe for running. And I have been wearing it casually too. It is amazing. Still holds great. It's still reactive, and you can feel the plate, if you lean hard and push yourself. Done myself PR 3k race and 5km. (9:50/16:50) in them. They are just awesome. Even for easy days, they are so soft, smooth transition. Amazing fit and lockdown. If you can still find them don't look back buy a pair.

I run in the Ultraboost 19 and tried the zoom Flyknit but found there was a lack of platform. It felt unstable. Certainly lighter than the Ultraboost 19 which is why I tried them and want to find a lighter shoe but to run a 3hr marathon it takes more then weight to be a great shoe

I have been running in Zoom Fly's since the first version. My latest pair is the Zoom Fly Flyknit and love them for fast days. I also have the Zoom Fly SP FAST version and actually like that version the best of all 3 pair I have. The SP FAST has Lunarlon foam and the nylon carbon infused plate and I think is a bit stiffer but more stable than the newer Flyknit.

your comment on heavier runners is spot on. After 50 miles on zoom fly fk next to zero wear on react foam. Only 15 miles on Vaporfly the zoomx is already shreading. I have a half in the vaporfly tomorrow. Wonder if they will survive? I'm 210lbs. The high stack height certainly makes heal striking worse. But strides are instantly longer. The zoomflys feel like a narrower and slightly stiffer hoka to me. Just WAY more durable. I like for training tempo and long runs.

May I also mention there's a bit of a rocker in the forefoot that make you want to toe off faster. I mean, I perceive that rocker that rolls you forward. I really love this shoe. It's light, it's fast, it's cushy. Ran in them today for the track and along the beach (the loose sand on the path caused some slipping). You're spot on about the lateral stability though. It's a little sloppy, but that's the double edge sword with high stack height. QOD: Option E

Hello SDJ, after running this shoe for a while I love the feel of speed it gives me... however I feel some pain underfoot, you mention this in your video as well (you say you feel your feet). Could you please elaborate on that for me? Never felt this pain with any other shoe. I normally experience the pain after 5km, before that it us all ok, and a super nice shoe. The pain feels like a bubble just behind the three middle toes, and pressure builds there. Did you feel anything similar? Thanks for your reviews, very helpful. Found your channel when searching for the zoom fly 3, hope to see the 50 miles review of that soon 😊

As a competitive runner for 50 years in August , I've seen quite a range of running shoes. At 64 I find this shoe as fast as my Mizuno Sonic. Since my Lifetime PR's are long gone meaning that it's more important to gait more protection. I have used at 5k distance and am running between 20-21 minutes.this is about 10-15 seconds per mile faster than the lighter flat without the carbon plate

Option A. I have about 50 miles in my Zoom flys. Wondering if I should upgrade. The carbon fiber plate takes a little getting used to. I think it helps you run just a little. Am I hindering my ability to succeed race day by training in a carbon plate? If so, what should would you recommend for those hard effort tempo runs?
@SethJamesDeMoor5 жыл бұрын
David, I think the Zoom Fly is a great choice, especially if your legs are tired and you need a little help to hit your goal splits for a workout. If you're looking for a lower drop the Hoka Carbon Rocket is proving to be very comfortable and it also has a carbon fiber plate with a 1mm drop. And another option with no carbon fiber plate is the Skechers Razor 3, but the build quality is certainly not as solid as a Nike shoe.

The Zoom Fly penalizes paces slower than 4.20 min/km or 6:50 min/mile” Is that true? Also many reviews mentioned that the shoe is not good for runners with wide feet ? Does the carbon plate change your stride while running. Pls help with answers

QOD: E. I’m looking for a interval shoe for running at 5K pace on the roads. I am quite happy with the VaporFly 4% for marathon pace work, but it’s a little unstable and not sure-footed on the wet pavement here in Portland to go faster. Fantastic review today. I’m counting the days to get stable enough to run a half on these Zoom Flies. QD: 1-D 2-E 3-A Plus, why not, Razor 3 vs. Carbon Rocket😅 Why not doing a broader comparison on potential marathon shoes, more than only comparing 2 at the time, like you did with Peg. 35, Turbo and Vomero last year? Nothing can bit the technology of the Vapor Fly 4%, proven by runners sponsored by other brands using it, so I would focus on what is the best second option, which will certainly be more affordable. Just a humble suggestion... Cheers to all runners crashing their long runs this weekend!!

React is more durable than zoomx. That said, it is also firmer and less bouncy. So if you want to go for training, maybe zoom fly. I find the shoe too firm for me. The zoom fly 3 is very stiff. I have over 200 miles on various vaporfly fks. They are not a stiff (I ran races with them with over 100 miles) the more miles I put in, but then use them for training/long runs up to 225+ miles. The main wear point is the lateral heel. I burn through the outsoles/wear them down to the foam.
