What a journey! Francois and Courtney are on another planet! I hope you enjoy this "behind the scenes" UTMB race vlog as I continue to gather footage here in CHamonix on Sunday for the BIG UTMB production. THANK YOU DGR for all the support from around the world , could not be doing this without all of you! Let's keep turning that doorknob together, and filming along the way.

A masterpiece snapshot of a day in the life at UTMB. Just wow, loved this. Thanks for fitting us in despite the insanity of your week, and being so gracious to welcome kids on a group run: unbelievable. The kids left so inspired, set up a race course as soon as we arrived home. Send our greetings to the fam at home who can't wait to welcome you home. Ask them if they would ever fancy playing with our three while you run OCC next year. We'll pick you up from the correct airport, serve you all the coffee you want, show you our fav trails and cook proper food! Bon voyage!

Seth these UTMB videos are outstanding, Kudos to you for consistently working hard to put out great content. Just accumulated enough points to enter UTMB for 2022 (hopefully if the ballot is in my favor). Your content makes turning the doorknob to get to Chamonix all the more worth it.

QD: 12 mi LR down from 18 last weekend; only a couple more very long runs to go before taper for Boston (18 and 20 mi next 2 weekends)! Nailing down the fuel/hydration has been my biggest concern, but I’ll still have to be able to pivot according to the weather at the race. Thank you so much for these beautiful and inspiring videos from UTMB. Seeing Courtney cross the finish line just before I left home for my LR was mental fuel for yesterday! Martha

So glad you had a good time with the local folks. It's a tradition to drink wine and pass along the small glass of wine in the group. The small glass of wine is part of the normal attire when going in the mountains. It is usually stored inside a small container to keep it safe. The fondue is also a typical dish to cook on a gas stove high up on the trail or while camping up there. You got the real insider experience! 👌

As always, such wonderful, beautiful coverage. I miss Europe so much right now! Thank you for bringing us a little piece of the EU. QOD: My long run was meant to be 20 miles on Saturday followed by 8 on Sunday, but the smoke and heat in the Bay Area got to me and wore we down. After nearly passing out, I had to bail after 12 miles on Saturday, and I climbed down the mountain feeling defeated and incredibly frustrated. Then I was reminded that my body is still recovering from my 50k the previous week and to be patient. I got back on Sunday, completed 16 miles, and while not what planned, am happy with my overall mileage this weekend!

Thank you guy for doing all this to send us so beautiful footage from the Swiss Alps! And some runners ... And some shoes ... I made yesterday a 31-km-run (with about 600 m elevation). At the end of a tapering week I felt so strong that I smashed almost every record on my watch. So great to see the progress I made this year. And as a reward for a endurance run with load below race pace. Thank you coach!

Seth, great coverage ! About your coffee: the pot you have at you rental apt. is called a moka pot. Unscrew the bottom half. Remove the metal filter (looks like a funnel) and pour water up to the nipple on the side of the bottom half. Replace the filter. Fill the filter with very fine-ground coffee. Screw top half back on. Place on stove and set heat as to boil water. Heat will move water past the filter, through the coffee and up to the top half. When top container full, pour coffee. Enjoy a nice and decent cup ! Please no more instant coffee ;) All the best and keep it up !

I agree. I live in CO.& love the mountains, but I spent a month in a French immersion experience with a family in Chamonix when I was 14, and as an adult have been to Switzerland many times. The base-to-summit drama with the narrow, intimate valleys in the Alps take your breath away.

I'm going to attempt 2 laps of out and back on the Herbert River trail here in Juneau, Alaska, for a total distance of about 18.4 miles. The first time I finished the same route, I ended up needing to go to the ER and get put on an IV...definitely hoping for a different feeling at the end of this run, and definitely planning for better hydration and fueling at the halfway point. Thanks, Seth, for the daily motivation to get out there and push the boundaries...in a smart way.

Had a 33k this weekend just gone. Because we are in lockdown (again) here in Melbourne we can't hook up with our usual running groups so we are mostly on our own. Hubby said to me who are you going to meet today and I said I'm just gonna head out & see who I find. It only took me about 5k until I did come across some friends and we ran the next 17 or so k together which was great. I left them to have coffee and did the last 9k on my own which was torture but I got it done. We can only run within 5k of our home but it's amazing all the paths & trails I have discovered that I didn't know existed before. Thank God we can still run. It's got alot of people through during these ongoing lockdowns.

Ran my first 30 km this Sunday. My first run past 25 km. It was tougher then expected, but the UTMB had med all kinds of excited. I ended up walking a fair bit of the last distance, but I'm happy I made it thru. The legs were okay and I had no issues walking. So just need to work on the form. I had fun, and will try again sometime. But I'm still a new runner. Turned 40 this year. But want to try all the things. Maybe eventually Ultras.

QOD: This weekend, I decided to toss my usual rule book aside in terms of my distance targets etc. I have been struggling to enjoy my running lately, with some anxiety issues. Instead, Saturday was a 14k run with music for the first time, with a fun tempo in the middle. Sunday was a 12k race effort around my local mountain - 13km/880m. Ran in under two hours and just had a blast. No rules, just enjoying myself and the rhythm!

Seeing people confused on which way to go 10 steps into the race made me chuckle.
