This hits me hard too. Actually, more for my husband's situation. He was earning a lot, but suddenly he lost everything. He told me, he learnt more after losing what he had before. He's on his way back up. He treated me and our children really well. I'd say it's a good life lesson - losing everything.

Well damn this had been suggested to me by KZbin and I've been putting it off because it sounds like a dude has come to terms with losing everything and that's it. But it is much more than that. This is a story of personal growth and the importance of family. And damn the wife is an absolute angel to have put up with all that crap over and over again. Well done to Mr Raymond. You'll be surprised by much cheaper these ingredients become when you buy them in bulk from the producers themselves or a wholesaler. I buy my meat in bulk from stores that cater to restaurants and I can never stomach the normal prices in supermarkets. Scallops, salmon- in Japan at least if you buy in bulk, especially if it's frozen, they're really really cheap, cheaper than any other meat by pound maybe except chicken breasts.

I've tried the seafood congee; it's really value for money and tastes good. Love the umami flavour in it. Small note to Raymond if you're reading this, up the salt a little bit in the porridge to bring out more umami flavour.
