That’s what I love about many churches, even though I’m not super religious. They have small communities that have large impacts. Recently my church asked for volunteers to help tear down and rebuild a house for a woman and her kids who had a rough life, to say the least. They didn’t even have usable plumbing. They would walk to a gas station to have access to running water.

In NC we are like this everyday. We are in good company in our hard time because of our friendly nature. We did not need a disaster to showcase our Neighborly ways. Seth, I never write comments but thought I would in case you'd see this. If you can, please do make weekly videos. I know you feel dirty doing it, but honestly, it's what websites like this need. There is so much negativity. You said your faith in humanity was restored, please share that. KZbin, FB, etc need to have content where people like you, Sean, Cleetus, etc are showing how awesome everyday people are. Show off how people care about each other and take care of each other. You're doing great stuff Seth. If you feel dirty about the money from the videos, use it to buy more supplies or pay yourself back for supplies you've undoubtedly paid for out of your own pocket. People also need to see how fragile life is. People need to see what it takes to pull your life back together after something like this. But most importantly, people need to see positivity, and you are doing just that. Please show us. Thanks Seth.

Stop with spreading misinformation and stop with the cynicism. The $750 is the immediate emergency distribution but not the only money survivors will get from the government. It’s great that neighbors are taking care of neighbors but the government will still be needed to rebuild the infrastructure but it’s going to take time. This was a 1,000 year storm. Expecting immediate government response within 24 hours when the roads and bridges have been destroyed and in some cases literally washed away means it’s going to take time to rebuild and recover.

This reminds me of the hurricane season of 2004 and 2005 in Florida. Spent an awful lot of time coming together as a community and helping each other out. Not having power and or water for a week is a gnarly experience.

Thank you for covering Edneyville! I grew up there and my friends and family still live there. It’s rough… my nephew’s llama farm was washed away. It’s a close community and they will survive.

Thank you Seth. It's heartwarming to see people helping people. If anyone is able to volunteer a few bucks, organizations like Wings of Compassion and World Central Kitchen cut out the overhead and apply it directly to the things people need.

I'm an Ohioan but I spent a lot of time down in western NC/eastern TN when I was heavy into whitewater kayaking. What I'm seeing is absolutely heartbreaking - I'm in tears. Thank you for helping.

This is what America is about!!! So tired of hearing how we should all hate each other. We're all Americans and we will stand together as God intended. I am praying for all of you and will help in every way i can.

Hi Seth, Thank you for all you do and giving us a small yet very poignant view of natures wrath but also “ faith in humanity” I do wish this same humanity could always be present , not just the hard times. Take care, Petr

This video made me cry. Seeing how much destruction there is and the community rallying together to support each other makes my heart full. Thank you for taking care of the people of the upstate and western nc. Videos like this help keep the focus alive and healing.

THANK YOU for this! My husband is up in the mountain cutting down trees to help people get out. He works are a superintendent on base for a painting company but was former law enforcement. So, his company is literally paying him to go to the mountains and help, rather than work his actual job. I'm home 32 weeks pregnant but I may come up this week to help at the distribution centers. I can at least provide a hug, prayer, and some love - especially to the mamas who I know are struggling and running on fumes. My husband and I have lived in NC my entire life and it makes me so happy to see our state coming together. We were planning a baby moon to the mountains, little did we know we'd actually be there helping from a catastrophic event.

Really puts things into perspective. After Beryl I was without power for about a week, but I only got minimal fence damage and had an inverter and a truck, so the most I lost was some sleep and a thing of ice cream. It's hard to wrap your head around whole neighborhoods just being gone. Not even destroyed, just not there anymore. Thank you Seth, Sean, Jimmy and everyone else helping up there.
