Kaiba was not the best, 2nd best or even 3rd best duelist. He was about to get his ass kicked by Bakura in season 5 Yugioh. But Bakura left so he could make it back to Atems past in Egypt before time escapes him. Kaiba also was going to lose to Joey but used Crush Card Virus cause he wouldnt be able to win without it. Kaiba's tactics were all recognized and negated by Alister in the first duel they had at "Waking The Dragons" but before kaiba was gonna get his ass handed to him plot armor came to the rescue, a card he never included in his deck was put their (Fang of Critias). Kaiba also lost the coin toss declaration against Sigfreed, yet Sigfreed let Kaiba go first, if Sigfreed went first he would skip kaibas turn so Sigfreed could immediately get into a battle phase and beat Kaibas ass.

I like how Yugi/Pharoah and Kaiba's frenemy relationship progresses throughout the series when protagonist's rival was not only a painted antagonist, but also helps and guides the protagonist into becoming a stronger duelist and the rival eventually turn out to have a heart towards the protagonist. This card is kinda special to me. When i was on the last semester in college i was living with my grandparents. My grandpa was diagnosed with cancer and i was racing the time to gradaute before would possibly die. I literally developed OCD in that period. Until one day i dreamt that he is going to leave the house forever on my final exam. I had a habit to give names to the big days in my diary. For the final exam i called that day Wish of the final effort, paying homage to this card and my dream of telling i graduated. Espically that it was the same exam as in the dream and he was ready to leave to the hospital as i was going to the exam. I would finish the exam, ran to the hospital to tell him and it was the last day i ever saw him. Since that i am just soulless as it was the greatest gift and indeed the "wish of final effort"

I was sad as a kid when Kaiba got wiped out i was a bit shocked.I taught once he had Mirror Force Dragon he could really takeover the duel for a while.My jaw dropped do when i seen Shunaros had 20,000 attack that was nuts.Plus Dexia and Aristoros were nearly invincible.Dartz was the strongest duelist ever imo.If you didn't have the God Cards or Legendary Dragons you'd have no chance against him.Shining Dragon could have maybe caused him problems too.

Yugi and Kaiba honestly could've done better in this duel. Kaiba had his Deck Virus Trap, Yugi had Ragnarok. Kaiba had his XYZ Machines and Yugi had his Kuriboh Brothers. They also could've easily manipulated Dartz's monsters. Yugi had Dark Renewal which tributes an opposing monster to summon Dark Magician, and Kaiba had Dark Core, which banishes your opponent's monsters. In addition, Yugi can take control of his opponent's monsters with Brain Control, and Kaiba has Enemy Controller. On top of all that, I imagine Kaiba has Chaos Emperor Dragon at this point.

Shunoros had like 17,000 ATK, and I think Mirror Force Dragon had 2,800. So if Kaiba fueled himself, raising his LP to 3,400, he still would've lost 13,600 LP, so no point.

After Mirror Force Dragon got popped, Kaiba was pretty much out of gas. That dragon was his last hurrah, his hand contained nothing but bricks, and besides it was still his turn so Dartz would get to attack Kaiba again before the latter got another draw off. There would be no point.
