When the fridge has physically buttons like this I haven't needed a lockout feature since you have to hard press a button to change anything. The "touch screen" buttons on other fridges definitely need that though!

The lid on this is so nice! It looks like it's got much thicker panels and is bulkier than something like the Glacier with the vacuum insulated panels 🤔 bouncing between your fridge reviews now as I appreciate all the information you give. I'm also trying to figure out which one works the best as a cooler as in having the best insulation in case it's not plugged in for a bit. Seems many of these are compromising insulation or seals because they're meant to be plugged in all the time

Very nice. The lid feature seems to mimic the Iceco VL45PRO at a much reduced price. The only downside is, I have a problem with ice cream. I can usually eat the entire tub at one sitting. I'm going to be more of an overlander, I think that is the term the hipsters use these days. 20 years ago we just used a folding paper map and followed the roads with the narrowest of lines. My stock 2002 Tacoma got me pretty much anywhere I wanted to go. Found cool stuff that way. Anyway great power draw on this fridge and if it gets to 90+, I got wheels and going to higher ground. I will be based in the four corners area, so you got canyons and mountains within a short distance of themselves. Currently I'm rotating between southern AZ and NM.

And it should at least fit 2 ice cream containers in there lol! I live in Northern Utah and have spent some time down in that area, mostly near moab and the national parks though.

Hi Jason, thanks for another good review. I was ready to buy an Iceco VL45Pro thru your site but the dual zone in this model looks like the optimal configuration. I watched this twice but don't see any reference to how quiet, or not, the compressor is . Would you say this is as quiet as the Iceco? Some comments on reviews of this model say Setpower is affiliated with Iceco, just using the less expensive non Secop compressor. I wasn't aware of Setpower until watching your review, but the models of both companies are practically identical.

Thank you for all your videos/reviews. I watched many, many of them, then decided on and bought an RV45D for my camper. After opening it and letting it air out for a few days I plugged it in to AC power this morning. The refrigerator side cooled to the preset 41° pretty quickly and stayed there until the freezer side reached 0°, then the refrigerator side started dropping in temperature until it hit 21°, then it rose up to 26°, and is now fluctuating between 24° and 26° (it has been doing this for about 3 hours). I thought I'd give it overnight to see if the refrigerator side adjusts to 41°, but am planning on sending Setpower an email today about what it's doing. Have you seen a dual zone behave like this before, and, if so, did it eventually correct itself?

@@Jasonoid 0° for the left (smaller) side and 41° for the right (larger) side. A couple of hours ago I pulled out the center divider and put it back in while the unit was turned on, then turned the unit off and unplugged it. After plugging it back in and turning it on I set the temperature on the refrigerated side (right) to 40° (from the previous setting of 41°) and it continued to read 40° on the right side readout for about 5 minutes, then switched to reading 27°, while the freezer side - which which was still set to 0° - was reading 3°. I watched that for the better part of an hour, and the refrigerator side didn't come up in temperature, so the next thing I tried was pulling out the center divider while the unit was turned on, closed the lid, powered the unit off, then unplugged it. I opened the lid and left it that way for a couple of minutes or so. I closed the lid, plugged it back in, turned it on (with the unit still set to 40°), and it came on at 37°, but started dropping in temperature again until it got to 23°. This time I noticed that the compressor wasn't running while the temperature was dropping, so I suspect the residual cold from the side that had been a freezer was cooling the entire compartment. Because of this I turned the unit off, unplugged it, opened the top, and am going to let it warm up until every part of the inside of the unit reaches a temperature above 41° (I'm checking the interior with an infrared thermometer and getting readings between 33° on the bottom to 53° on the shelf above the compressor). Thanks for any suggestions and feedback.

@@KnowPunsIntended great info and testing by the way. These fridges can be a little tricky sometimes when they turn on. One thing that worked for someone else was to turn off the fridge, let it dry out with the lid open because they had some water / condensation that got into the temperature sensor that was throwing it off. This was throwing off their readings. I live in a pretty dry climate so I don't get issues with humidity freezing inside but I have seen that before. Let me know if that helps. If you still have issues go ahead and then them an email of what issue you are seeing.

@@Jasonoid Hi Jason - after I got readings throughout the fridge of 42° and above I closed the lid, plugged it in, and powered it on. It initially read 35°, then jumped to 40°, and has stayed at that temperature for the last half an hour or so. By the way, I'm in a fairly dry climate too - Bozeman, Montana. I think the next thing to try is to put the divider back in and see if it can cope. Thanks again for the responses - Paul

@@Jasonoid After warming the unit to 42° I started it up again and it appeared to work well with the fridge side cooling to 41° and staying there while the freezer continued to cool. However, once the freezer hit 0° the fridge started cooling down further, going to 24° before I got fed up and pulled the plug. As one last test I shut it down, unplugged it, and let it warm to room temperature, and have now plugged it back in and turned it on, but set the freezer to 10° and the fridge to 41° to see if there is something about hitting 0° on the freezer side that is triggering the unit to keep cooling the fridge beyond 41°. I also sent Setpower a thorough email about the problem and all the things I have done to try to resolve the problem I'm having. FYI, Paul

Thanks for the video. Very informative. 2:00 What capacity is that BLUETTI? 7:00 Do you know if the handles can be removed? 7:13 Thanks for the power testing data! 11:40 It comes with an off-brand compressor. By any chance, do you know any fridges with the reversible lid and dual zone that come with a namebrand compressor? I understand this is a new release. I wonder if SetPower will make a slide and insulating cover for it. Insulating cover might help with running in above 85F ambient temp. Lastly, I almost missed the discount code in the description. I'm still researching fridges, but this is a top contender. Until when is your discount code active?
@Jasonoid
@Jasonoid 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Jose, thanks for watching! - Bluetti has 716wh of storage, I have a video review for the power station on my channel if you want more info about it. I tested 616wh of actual storage when using the DC output on the battery. It will work well for running 12v fridges. - The handles should be able to be removed with a couple screws, I haven't tried that yet on my model. - ICECO (sister company to SetPower) makes slightly nicer fridges. You can think of Setpower being their "budget" line of fridges. Setpower fridges are definitely better than most cheap fridges on Amazon. ICECO uses Secop compressors so they are well trusted and durable. ICECO has multiple dual fridge/freezer options to chose like the VL series and the VLpro series. I still recommend the regular VL series because the VL Pro series are a bit steep on price still. They share many of the same features (compressor models, efficiency, and sizing). Discount code "Jasonoid" for BOTH Setpower and ICECO should be active for the next few months. No plans of having it de-activated yet. Both offer 12% off to my viewers.

I am curious about the older designs such as the LGT50 from alpicool. It also has duel zone, with removable divider, wheels, and handles similar size. However I notice that all the other Chinese brands switch over to the setpower style design including alpicool. I can't figure any particular reason what the advantage would be considering they offer almost all the same exact features but cost more. Are the new designs (RV45d style) more thermally efficient? I am in the market for a duel zone and have trouble deciding between the LGT50, New Air 48 and the RV45PRO. Pro is about 600 while the other two are 400-450. The LGT50 being the older design. I only dislike that the RVD45 does not include the second L shape basket like the LGT50 actually does. The New Air's only disadvantage is that it doesn't have a removable divider which makes it pretty much exactly like the TWW45 from bodega/alpicool but it has an LG compressor.

@@Jasonoid I've only had it for about a day or two and when I have it set to zero for The F1 settings it doesn't seem to get any colder in the fridge. So for example if I have the refrigerator set at 37° and the temperature it is at currently is 45°, then it will just stay at 45° however if I set the f 1 to negative 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 it will rapidly start to cool down and if I wait a little while the temperature inside the start to get colder. But I drove it today in the car for work and I actually had it running pretty good at freezer said at 17 and the fridge set at 36. But again I have to have the F1 set at least a couple negative degrees in order for it to work the way I wanted to. Also the first night the fridge didn't even stop running all night long even on eco mode. I also am not seeing any wattage difference between ecol mode and Max mode so I'm not sure if I have a faulty fridge or not

@@defwebsolutions I have never had to adjust the F1 settings but if that helps leave it where it works best for you. Eco mode uses about 15 watts less than max mode on that compressor. The compressor will run constantly anytime the ambient Temps are above 90F-95F. So in a hot car without ac running it will run more.
