Additional comments from Key Grip Richard Mall: Another home run Martin. I have one tip to share that I wish I could with a net. A true double net take a stop of light only if it is perpendicular to the face of the lamp. If you have the net at an angle to the lamp it will “Take” more light. You can turn a single into a double or even a thin solid by having the light pass through the net at an angle. It very easy to show by putting a net in front of a light and pivot it from the front edge and watch how thick the net can get.

if I hear that a cider is coming on set I would think that a cold glass needs to be following at some point. Call Mr Sands, a grip brother has plugged in a light. Keep it going. Good stuff.

Hi Martin, I really enjoy these videos - I shoot stills, as an amature and can attest to older Matthews equipment. I have a few Beefy Baby stands and c stand with arms, and wondered if it is acceptable or okay to place a sand bag on the orange braces. I noticed you have done that in this video - I think my bags are 15 lbs. I rarely bag the beefy baby stands since I shoot inside mostly. Their weight is a bonus in my opinion.

thanks for that, great tips, by the way that last one, is it due to the righty tighty rule, as any weight applied while underslung in that position technically will rotate the knob to loosten the grip, not tighten it, as when the rod is forward of the riser tube.
