Another great video. I have plented word of the day and maintaining an agenda or status f the class board. I am trying something I always do, speak in the affirmative as it relates to behavior I want my students to display. I am doing that on overload.

I love your energy and ideas. The "its" on your chart doesn't need an apostrophe. I think it was something about 'staying in its place'.

We did a what does it look/sound like discussion before small group time today and it worked really well. Tomorrow we will put it on paper as an anchor chart. Thanks again for the tips!

Your videos help me so much with hearing more opinions on teaching. I just started teaching after Christmas break and it is so difficult. I'm planning a time this week or next week to review classroom behavior and setting my expectations on a deeper level. It's hard coming in mid-year and trying to get the students to work at the same level you want them to.

I have been teaching esl for 10 years in an inner city elementary school (grades 2-4). It can be so challenging and draining as the years go on. The past few months I've been on maternity leave and found your videos. As I prepare to go back to work in February I have to say thank you! Your videos have sparked my creativity and have given me new ideas to try with my kiddos when I get back! 😄

That book is amazing. I bought it in the fall. I can't wait to get her new writing strategies book. I had mine cut and bound at an office store too which has made flipping through it so much better.

Saw a colleague do the COOLEST thing with her copy of the Writing Strategies book - she had the binding cut off, and had it spiral bound at an office supply store, Staples maybe. That way the book could lay flat. She also had those removable tabs separating each section. Genius!

The Reading Strategies book is A-MAZING!!! I had a PD a month or so ago, and they gave us each a copy of this book. Love love it. Even if an activity is rated as a certain level, almost all activities can be tweaked to work. You can pre-order the new one by Jennifer S., too (it's cheaper) :)

Do you have goals for your career outside of the classroom? I.e. Becoming part of administration?
@BridgingLiteracy7 жыл бұрын
I do have goals, but they do not include leaving the classroom. I enjoy developing curriculums immensely. Being part of those teams and playing an influential role in curriculum development will continue to be a passion of mine. I am also a believer that teachers have value, so outside of the classroom, I enjoy doing KZbin videos, making teacher products for purchase and working on the book I am writing.
@lj44667 жыл бұрын
The Lettered Classroom I think I asked that question wrong.. I didn't mean for that to sound like teachers don't have value, only wondered if you ever might move into a different position within the education system (like a principal or VP) because you seem like a great leader and innovator. I think you're killing it inside and out of the classroom, I don't know how you do all that you do!
@BridgingLiteracy7 жыл бұрын
No worries, I didn't take it that way at all. I was just expanding upon my goals since I do not have an interest in administrative work. I belong in the classroom while also helping other teachers become their own best versions of themselves. It was too vague, but I meant the 'value' comment to lead into how I am monetizing my skills outside of the classroom. My Patreon is a perfect example, if a teacher is looking for more access they are welcome to join, but since it is a subscription page it limits it to those who see value in the service. It's win-win.
