Setting Cusk Lines (Ice Fishing on Lake Winnipesaukee)

Setting cusk ice fishing lines on Lake Winnipesaukee. This footage is from a few years ago but has never been shown on this channel before. Cusk, or freshwater cusk as it's properly called, is a freshwater ling (I accidentally said "lingcod" which is a fish in Alaska and much bigger). Some people call it burbot but that may be more appropriate for the saltwater cusk. The largest saltwater cusk on record was caught of the coast of Norway and weighed 37lbs, so as you can guess the saltwater cusk is much larger than the freshwater cusk. Other names for this fish include eelpout, ling, lota lota, and lawyer fish.

That's a very good bay to fish , my opinion THE BEST, many days out between the 2 pts, hammering the togue some days 2dz to 3dz fish, there's usually few nice porker rainbows under the white pines on the pt just to the R of where you access

funny here in central NY on an icefishing page someone from Maine commented that here in NY everyone says to just leave them on the ice and keep the perch and in Maine its just the opposite. I tell them to look up your channel on how to cook them
