I haven't been able to sight that dog/dogs that have been travelling through the area so I'm trying a few traps to see if I can get them that way. In this video I am showing you how I go about setting dog traps and what has worked for me in the past. Hope you can get something out of it and enjoy the video. And I hope I can get a dog soon. Just have to be patient.

Great video thank you. You mentioned how hot it was and I see the dog pacing fast in the ute tray. He's paws aren't burning on the metal tray are they ? Maybe a bit of old carpet for him ?
@intothenight1993
@intothenight1993 Жыл бұрын
No they weren't burning. He peaces like that all the time. The ute hadn't been in the sun long and would have been cooler than the ground. But i do have a mat in the back sometimes. I do care about my dog😉

G'day Josh I sympathise with the sweating mate I carry a couple of headbands with me the only way I can avoid dripping on the trap I run MB650 and Jake's I love the Jake's but have also been nailed my fault but.
@intothenight1993
@intothenight1993 2 жыл бұрын
That's not a bad idea thanks mate. Might give them a go. I've never tried the MB650. I just use my brothers few traps that he got and most of the time are sitting in the shed. But i should invest in a few more of my own. Do you think the 650's are the way to go or you prefer the jake?
@gavinadams7220
@gavinadams7220 2 жыл бұрын
@@intothenight1993 Probably prefer the jake they seem to lift up when they go off helping to get a better hold but nothing wrong with mb 650.

@@gavinadams7220 haha i think the one I had been using had the pan too loose and it was way too sensitive. But I have bought a heap of WTS #3 traps and I'm really happy with them. Love the night latch system.

Hey mate,really enjoying your trapping videos. I run Victors and Bridger’s and like them a lot. You run the WTS 3’s and you are getting good results. So I’ve just ordered some. Did you have to tune the pan tension at all? I see you have them click when set, is that standard ? Regards Anthony
@intothenight1993
@intothenight1993 Жыл бұрын
Hi Anthony. Glad to hear you are enjoying them. Haha I find trapping dogs addictive 🤣 But yes the WTS #3 is a far better trap in my humble opinion than the bridgers with the dog latch system. I've never used the victors. But I didn't have do anything to the pan tension. Even though the pan is loose it is still not too sensitive. The notch latch system does come standard on them. It is an awesome pan and latch. It is a pleasure to set. Where as I've used the Jake traps a bit and if you don't have them tensioned up right, they are too sensitive and I've caught my thumbnails and it hurts 🤣 all I do with the WTS#3 when I get them is put a spot of weld on the swivels where they have been bent over and then wash them and hang them out in the weather for a few weeks to get a coating of rust and then dye and wax them. 👌

Yep, got the WTS 3’s, they are a dream to set, as you said. I had back the tension off the pans a bit as they wouldn’t fire under 4lb. But that was easy, so yes I like them. Now the waiting game!

@@anthonypuddicombe1911 glad you like them. Thats the worst part about getting new traps is waiting for them to rust a bit so you can dye them 🤣

Sorry but I struggled with this one. I know that dogs are a menace that need culling I just hate them being stuck in traps. Maybe because my dog’s are my hunting buddies.
@intothenight1993
@intothenight1993 2 жыл бұрын
Thats understandable and I don't like the thought of ot mich either but when they cost you thousands of dollars in damages its a bit easier to do. I love dogs but this is one of the more effective ways of reducing their numbers. And tje traps wouldn't hurt them too much. They would go numb fairly quickly. The traps don't have all the teeth on them to cut up their feet like the old ones used to.

He's fine. Its a rubber coating and it wasn't real hot. And he wasn't on for very long. He doesn't come on that ute much anyway. Its just the one i had to drive. My normal one has wooden floor and that doesn't get as hot. But he is locked up in his cage at home most of the time.
