I’m a route setter at a small climbing gym and we don’t have the lift to set lead walls 😭 we have to rope solo climb and have the holds and tools in a bucket hanging from us, it is so annoying it takes hours to set one route! I don’t know if Magnus has set like this before? It would be interesting to know!!

we do that to, solo rope climing or belayed by someone. Takes forever. And your legs, no blood in them after awhile haning in the harness!

I hope you have some ladderish routes to get up quick :0 Sounds a bit like the route setting in the saxony swiss, where you aren't allowed to set the routes whilst being belayed, but you have to go from the bottom and take the drill with you ;D

@@flusck Seeing them do problem solving and stuff out loud is probably the informative part, not to mention having a guy like Magnus give an opinion on the subject. Not all setters are great climbers, and not all climbers are great setters. I think it's probably good for setters to see all aspects of climbing, even this.

This was a special treat! All the clutter of holds in gyms take away from being able to just focus on the climbing. This happens to be part of why I prefer real rock. The editing here was nice, too, with good lighting and a variety of angles. ...As for humor? You make her giggle all the time, dude. Clearly, you are funny to someone besides your fans.

Super interesting! I am (yet) a non-climber but I find your videos super interesting. I had surgery in October and have to wait 6 months until I can do heavy sports again but once I'm fully healed, I want to start climbing. I did it once when I was 12 years old and loved it but there was no gym close to us and you need a partner, etc. so I always found excuses to not pick it up again. Now at 30 I will finally give it a proper go. By the time I'll be healed I will probably have watched all your videos. :D

i am not a climber yet and this is the most interesting video! the only reason i am even interested in climbing in the future are those super fun colorful plastic things i have always admired! seeing how they are put on the walls is super interesting! i really wish though there was enough space to not have all the routes mixed up in one place, they just look so much cooler design-wise when they are alone!

From a non climber, i like alot of your vids but have always found setting walls and grading them extremely interesting. The thought process of applying various moves to climb a problem changes from climber to climber depending on strengths and technique, the best routes are the ones that force a climber to those moves...... Its fascinating.

Im a scaffolder and I too do get scared of height. But what i tell people is that every height you get scared of you set a new one to master and eventually youll be able to look down buildings and your stomach won’t turn

@@kamron_thurmond If you dont do it already do a good warm up and start with easy routes. Dont start with to much overhang. But if that doesnt help and you feel pain you really should visit a doctor. I cant climb for 7+ month and believe me you dont want this. If you have a problem with your body fix it before it gets to late. Later it gets more expencive and you wont be the same anymore even after recovery.
