Episode 5 - We dig a bit deeper into the ignition timing issues and end up adjusting the cam timing as well. I also paint and install some extractors as well as the cat back exhaust.

Great channel you little legend! I think the timing belt/cam position was ok to start with- they won’t point straight up on TDC, but on a slight angle (the same angle as the head sits) 👌

Yo young fella, you might want to get some 600 grit sand paper and sand that surface rust off the doors and things like that 👍🏻

You will need a timing light to set the timing correctly as you need 15 degrees advanced at idle for base timing There cheap enough and you’ll always use it whenever that dissy shots the bed as the vl one do a common problem with the older crank sensor setup

Cam timing won’t cause too much ignition advance it’s all in the dissy timing and look like your a tooth out

Hey boys you mark it from the first notch on the balancer that's TDC and then 53 teeth to the cam gear, you have it on 5° hence why its all out

Pull the dizzy out and adjust it a tooth clockwise. I'd say the timing belt is okay.

Just wind the engine to tdc then pull the dizzy out and spin it a tooth to suit.
