Another great video 👏😊 It's so true what you said about too much substrate in a young monitor's enclosure, it can definitely set them up to fail..
@ashsnape83524 жыл бұрын
Dude you have totally changed my outlook on hides.watched this, took out the enclosed hides and left only ones where he could always see me and now he's like a new lizard. Thank you so much bud 👍

Looks great. I had a similar set-up for awhile, but nothing lasts long with monitors haha. These suckers sure can grow. 6" per month for nearly a year or even more is not unheard of. That's what my Nile averaged and water monitors are even larger.

Im.currently doing EVERYTHING you've said. In alot of hour videos. Only thing I dont do is use those powersun bulbs. My 100w barely got past 100°. And that's after a few hours.

That's way too hot Key! I live in Cambodia and see these animals on a daily bases. Very rarely does it get over 90 here, so even in a basking area it won't get much of 100 a couple of year! Like most reptiles they don't come out in the mid day sun. You only see them basking early in the morning and late in the afternoon. 110 is more than that for the hot season April - early Nov By the end of Dec it can get down to 22 at night and ambient 30 ish in the day for the hot season 35-6 ambient temp should be fine
@LanceLouis7008 Жыл бұрын
You talked about heat temps but you didn’t talk about humidity levels so in the enclosure you just said you need humidity. But how much is preferred? What percentage? Can you tell more?

we need more vids of the black monitors that u have. care vids how to tame them what do they eat exactly n how often (any subs for insects if i live somewhere far from any pet store that sells them.. ur daily routine with them since babies till adult time feeding temp' etc .. youtube in general dont have enough vids of these beautiful creatures i hate it

Best thing to do is hand feed when baby and hold them atleast 4 times a week don’t put to much stress play with them in the bathtub and do that every day that’s how I tame my cumingi Asian water monitor when I first got her she would just snap try and bite me start off with food

The 100w intensified says roughly 90 but the ground has a heating pad should i still be worried about temp being too low if his belly still has the mat under him despite my thermostat saying ranges from 90- 104?

Would some of the tips beside the open set up work with a tristick monitor as well the difference them being more arboreal.

how the hell can you get such a huge gradient of heat in a 30inch enclosure, Even in 4 ft vivs with a 120 basking spot I find it near impossible to keep the ambient temps bellow 90
@agustingonzalez42306 жыл бұрын
KFReps mines a 40 gal with a 150w , and the air temp is roughly 90. So I guess it's possible.

can you do a start on a crocodile monitor plz.
@capyc5 жыл бұрын
Water monitor would be first of all less dangerous which is a good think they also dont take as much space but also crocodile monitors could even get your arm amputated which means water monitors are much safer and cheaper and smaller

Does this set up work for a baby Red bearded dragon if I use a 160 WATT Zoo Med power sun light heat bulb? I'll keep my baby on paper towels. I know for a fact that I cannot use sand with any Lizard species. Sand is deadly to baby Lizards.

people saying you need a lot of humidity like at 70-80 and say thats decently hard to get me lives in peru and air temperature is naturally70-90 humidity unlickily almost no one ships to peru
@krete697 ай бұрын
Yeah, I think the same too, the weather in south america is just like south east asia, that would be great for asian water monitor to keep in there.
