Maybe a giant goldfish? Or a turtle that's much larger then your current turtles, but I think first buy hundreds of ghost shrimp soon and keep them to help the cycle of the pond and when the fish come in they get a snack

Nice, in my opinion you must hang the light from somewhere because it’s risky being there. It might fall in the water. Also it’s going to make the room brighter. Because there is not even enough light to film !

Should get some lily pads and tall plants to hide the waterfall filter and make it look natural and pretty! I love it so far tho! The filter idea was actually really smart! ❤️

A hint on rinsing rocky substrate drill small holes in the bucket smaller than the diameter of the substrate to let the dirt and dust drain it's a lil faster

I would just zip tie the heater brackets to the milk crates and clip them on inside the milk crate. Then you could service the heaters easily if you needed to.

Please, secure the lights. You don't want to fry your fish or yourself in the process. Also if you are using TL lamps, make sure the moist(damp) cannot get to the 'starters' of those lamps :) Safety first, for you and your fish (y) Have a nice day :)

Since you are going chiclids it might not be enough filtration in the filter box, and having the intake and out take at basically the same place means there isn't gonna be a lot of movment in the water so stuff is just gonna settle quickly.

A couple of KZbinrs I follow used a heavy duty 55 gallon trash can to build an indoor pond filter. Definitely not enough filtration or flow here hopefully he sees your comment.

It's a good idea but that will not be enough filtration for the fish you are going to end up putting in there, you will need atleast triple that amount

If you wanna do live plants around the filter, pothos is a great plant, it grows roots in the water but grows above it so it would be perfect, it also cleans the water as well!
