Hey I would really recommend getting a second bird if you already have a bond with your budgie getting a second one won’t change you bond. Budgies are flock animals and really enjoy being with 1 or more of their breed of bird :)

The cage is a bit smaller I would recommend a fight cage even though he's out most of the time he really would love to fly in him cage as well but it's not my budgie I can see u really take good care of him

Tips for your bird cage is to get natural wood perches dowel perches can cause bumble foot which is an infection also get rid of the huts they can cause your bird to be hormonal and aggressive also get a cage that is wider than taller bird fly horizontally not vertically and replace does plastic toys with natural wood toys a shredding also use seeds as a treat not as a main diet instead you should use Harrison natural pellets and fruits and vegetables

Don't be afraid to add more perches more varieties and variants the better in this video the cage only had two perches you can definitely fit three more in there you can have it already but overall a really great start

I don’t recommend getting toy bundles from Amazon. They look painted and not dyed which is unsafe and the clips are also unsafe. Planet pleasures,bonka bird toys and DIYs are better

I would recommend putting natural wood perches because dowel perches make your birds feet hurt and is not giving exercise to the birds feet and your bird should not be on a all seed diet seeds are fat for birds try switching him to a organic pellet and veggies

This is almost a complete video of exactly what not to do. Bad perches, toys, and cage choice. The cage looks like 5/8 bar spacing. And coconut huts are a huge no no unless you want a hormonal bird. If you use colored toys, they have to be natural vegetable dyes. Please don't spread bad habits and research more before getting a budgie. A tall cage is fine if you let them fly around most of the day, if not get a 26-30×18" LONG cage without a ton of clutter so they can exercise their wings.
