Beautiful cage! One tip though... try not to put much wood in your cages. Yes it’s really fun for them to chew on but the wood will soak up a bunch of pee and poo. You wood may eventually begin to get stinky. Ceramic is a good replacement or you could use plexiglass to separate your different sections. Just a friendly tip 🤗

Wood is great, that's all bullshit. When it gets soaked in pee clean it and if that doesn't work then replace it. Wood is great

Most people with tanks for detolfs, make their own lids. I have a wooden lid in two sections with air holes.

I've also heard that. I would go on the safe side and avoid it just in case. I use a mixture of kaytee aspen shavings and carefresh paper bedding and the gerbil tunnels hold really well.

i really want to get an ikea detolf for my gerbils too, but my parents won’t be convinced for the time being haha. my mum says if we can find one second hand we can definitely get it! their current cage is alright, but it doesn’t have enough room for toys, and i think they should have more floorspace.

jon burger detolf is an ok Cage for an hamster, but Not for gerbils :/ Minimum here for gerbils is 100/120cm Long and 60cm high. They need at least 30cm bedding (they love to dig Tunnels)

This cage would better fit a hamster, it’s to much stuff everywhere for tunnels and gerbils should not have a wheel, it can damage their spine.

Wheels can damage gerbil spines if they aren't large enough however this wheel is perfect for a gerbil this size.
