It's time to set up space to put clothes I'm keeping before I put them in the closet. I also need space for the clothes to go after they have been washed so they are ready for sorting.
ThreadUp is an online clothing consignment shop available in Canada and the US. My ThreadUp referral link is www.thredup.co...
I also have a closet at Mercari and am very open to offers.

Way to go Mira! 1 corner, 1 pile, 1 drawer at a time. It’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon. Remember self talk should be positive so when you look at your clutter don’t concentrate on what is left to do but what has been done! Celebrate all the wins, the big and the little!!❤

I'm so happy you are doing this for yourself. Grief is a sly one. I lost my sister in June 2023 and had my first Birthday celebration without her. As happy as I was to have all my family and friends there I still wanted to cry. Now today I haven't even gotten dressed. I'll manage tomorrow cause I'll hear her saying Get a move on girl! Your words are so true. Stay strong and thank you ❤

You may not think you have a "thick" decluttering muscle but Mira, you are definitely getting there. Throwing out those leggings that were getting threadbare was exercising that "decluttering muscle. Like grieving, the process takes time and each and every day it gets a little bit easier. Bless you for keeping at the decluttering, Cupid and your Mother must be very proud .

Well done! It might not look like much on camera, but you made a lot of decisions and had a lot of new insights. Physically moving the objects is a necessary step in decluttering, but making decisions about the clutter and learning about behaviors that change how clutter comes into your life is the real heavy lifting. Throwing away one pair of ripped leggings may not make a dent in the actual clutter, but it will help you to realize that you deserve nice things and you have an abundance in your life that means you don’t need to save things that are no longer functional for you. I also appreciate you talking about how your grief feels. I am struggling with similar feelings about my increasing disability and it feels so good to have someone perfectly describe the weight and space of grief.

I saw something once that I actually thought was lovely. The grief doesn't get smaller, or take up less space, you don't get "less sad" about the losses. It's you that grows bigger around it. (Though it was worded much better and more succinctly!)

Another of your videos I have to save! The first few minutes of the video while you’re talking to us and reaching for different garments, that little charmer Clay stole the show! He wiggled his way to the back of the bed sniffing almost every piece of cloth along the way. He got to the back, turned in a circle or two, then sniffed and wiggled his way back. I was practically in tears I was laughing so hard! Once again, he sniffed and wiggled his way to the back, circled, then wiggled and sniffed his way to the front! Back and forth he went, occasionally looking at you (what was going through his mind? ‘“I’m glad she’s keeping those leggings, they look good on her.”). At times I thought he was checking off inventory. Other times I figured he was looking for something: “I know it’s here! I’m certain I left my bone here!” I laughed and laughed! OMG, Clay is the most adorable little dog! But, I have to watch several times before I can focus on you and decluttering! Now, don’t be upset, he can’t help being a scene stealer (kidding!). Anyway, great video that will keep my mood up and my focus on decluttering (and adorable dogs). Thank you!

You are growing your decluttering muscles in a slow and steady way - which is the healthiest way.

I am sad that I am now caught up on your videos, but happy that with all you have been through in the past few months you are pushing through and really getting so much done to free your home and mind of the clutter. I am so sorry for your losses and thank you for sharing Cupid and your Mom with us. It is an honor. I am happy to say you have motivated me to start going through my clothes again. I have a lot of crafts, but more than that, clothes. I started a few months ago and donated a bag of shoes and I have been driving around with 2 bags of clothes that I just need to put in the donation bin. I finally found a bin that gives back locally and that was really what I was looking for. I have to say when I first started watching you I thought how cute your leggings were. I had no idea the volumes of leggings you own. I understand though as I also was a fomo buyer of things and like you had mentioned I also now sit on something and think about it before I buy it. Watching you declutter the leggings alone lets me know there is so much more I can part with and I will be ok after the items are gone.

Hi Mira, happy to see you continue posting and working away at this. I really look forward to a video that shows you listing the things on Mircari and dropping things off for donation. I think it will feel so much better for you if you start to see less so it isn't so overwhelming when you start to put things away. I know it is a lot of work. It personally makes me feel so good when I see you tossing things or putting things in your car for donation. It is my personal thing but it does give me a bit of anxiety when I just think you are moving piles around.

Mira, it’s been a little over 5 years without my mom and I can tell you that the day will come when you’ll think of your mom and smile, with just the tiniest of tugs at your heart. The same is true for our fur babies. One of my two crossed the rainbow bridge in September and the pain and hurt are starting to fade. Her sister/littermate is still with us, making that grief journey a bit more bearable, as I’m sure Clay does for you. I’m always thinking of you and praying for you. I love your courage to share so much with us. ❤ PS - I avoid “dry clean only” like the plague!

I love that you are continuing to find things that bring you so much joy, like your joker necklace. May that continue to push you on the hard days! I'm so excited for you to continue this journey and to enjoy the rewards it brings. As someone who doesn't struggle with depression (I get anxiety instead, yay!) but who struggles with (self diagnosed) seasonal depression in the winter, I find the cleaning and organizing at least helps. Sometimes I'll light a candle and get my spring scents going to help as well. Hope you are well and your heart is healing okay Mira! P.S. I love that you are continuing to find what works for you. I can see why you are so crafty! I know it can get hard when you're in the "it gets worse before it gets better stage" but cleaning off those tops and having somewhere to put your clothes for now will lead to good things down the road, and allow you to continue your decluttering a bit easier I think!

Hi Mira, little by little keep chipping away at the ice(clutter). Slowly but surely as you continue to declutter and donate, you will start seeing space in your home and you will have the space to organize the things you want to keep. I too was on a decluttering journey. Took me three years!!! Because I work full time so I didn't have time during the week to tackle me stuff. But little by little I kept chipping away at my clutter and shredding tons of papers. Three years later, I can proudly say I have less clothing and less papers. You got this Mira, keep chipping away at your clutter. Sorry for your losses. Maybe a support group for those who lost loved ones can help you in your time of mourning. You are doing a good job!!!

Fantastic job creating sorting spaces, and letting go of those pants!🥳👏👏👏 in my experience, grief does not go away, but it shrinks and changes. I can remember both my parents, and beloved pets, now without painful feelings of grief, but it’s been a long time. I’m sure the same will happen for you. It’s wonderful that you had parents and a pet that were such a positive part of your life!

I am thrilled that Mira has a space now where she can sort. This well help her so much :) I recommend labeling the two bins. It doesn't have to be fancy, just write on a piece of paper "clean & keep" and on another one "clean but no sorted" or something and tape them to the bin. It's a good visual cue. And if anything goes wrong and you cannot work on your project for some time, you can come back whenever and it won't be difficult to jump back in. Bonus tip: If you plan to keep any of the two dressers and use them for clothing, place the "clean & keep" bin on top of that very dresser. Then you already train yourself to go to that spot for clean clothes. You got this girl, I am so proud of you! 🥳

Great job, Mira. You threw away the holey leggins! Bravo. I have been binge watching Hoarders for motivation. My very large dining room table is covered in donations, which will be this week's adventure. I find myself revisiting areas to declutter more things. I feel as if I'm going backward, not making enough progress. I have emptied 5 giant totes of clothing. I found a large tote of the next sized down pants. I am forcing myself to select just a few to keep, many thrift store purchases. So I'm purging some pants. I find myself having to crawl over other things to get to where the pants are. I have no idea where where to put those things. Ah, if I could wave my magic wand to make everything go away. If anyone has suggestions about what to do with the things I crawl over, please feel free to answer. Your humor is always so entertaining. I need the endorphins! Love and hugs my friend.

Your videos just recently came up as a suggestion for me to view. I want to tell you how much strength and grace you have shown in all your videos. I admire how you have persevered despite your grief yet still can look back at yourself in your videos and chuckle at yourself. You are an inspiration! I undertook a decluttering of my house a few years ago and I did exactly what you did - one small space at a time. But you have achieved so much more in such a short time. Congratulations and keep up the good work! I can emphasize with your grief. I lost one of my 2 cats in 2019 and I was hurt to my core. I cried everyday for months. Work numbed me about thinking about my grief and when I wasn’t at work I lost myself in reruns of my favorite sitcoms in order not to look at house and how empty it was without my precious little one. Recently (October 2023) I lost my dad at 94 after watching him weaken and weaken - very tough. I took time off from work the last 2 weeks of his life. Had the best connections when he was lucid enough to know I was there. So I am at peace with his passing (but it can still catch me off guard). My other cat is very old and has health issues and I thought I was going to lose her and my dad in 2023. It has been very hard moving forward. I find I get very frustrated and easily annoyed at others. Watching your videos have made me realize that I need to reach out to a professional to help me. Your video on revisiting your living room made me smile. I have plans in the very near future of revisiting areas in my house to go through again. What better time to tackle my storage room then when I’m putting away my Christmas decorations. 😊

I appreciate your thoughtful, detailed comment. Losing loved ones is so painful. I'm sorry about the recent loss of your dad. I'm glad you had some good connection leading up to his passing. I got that with my mom and feel so blessed about it. Good for you for reaching out to a professional. I'm going to do the same. You're in my thoughts. Thanks for watching.

Good for you for keeping on. Grief is hard and takes so much time to really get through. It's okay if breaks are needed but you gotta know those who love you truly was you to have your space the way you want it.

Hi Mira- I'm watching some of your older videos that I hadn't seen. I was inspired to do one hour of decluttering of family mementos. I filled one bag with stuff I don't want to keep. We did a mug declutter a few months ago. My husband collected Starbucks city and country mugs for many years and we were able to donate a lot of them. We kept a few of our favorites. I was glad to have some more cabinet space in the kitchen. Thanks for all you do. Much love. 😊💐💐💐

Hi Mira, I m looking forward for your new videos. I watch the old ones again and again, and when you are peeling clutter I feel like my clutter is also being peeled away and I feel relief. We deserve a light life, and the best way for it is an organized space. I m so happy for you. You can achieve this among all the grief. So I believe I can too. Love…

Way to go, Mira! Getting rid of those leggings was a huge step! I know how you feel - I’ve just gone through my leggings - some are really hard to part with. As I went through them I checked the size - if they were too big, they had to go. If I was uncertain I tried them on then checked how they looked in the full length mirror. If okay they stayed, if not they went! It took three days but I am now down to what I consider a manageable number (40 or so!). T shirts is the next big one for me. After doing an initial sort several weeks ago, then finding a hidden stash, it’s time to revisit them! You are such an inspiration, Mira! I love your attitude, your humour, your ability to bring us into your life.

My in-law's Chihuahua mix was a professional space hog. She was less than 14 pounds and managed to take up about 1/3 of my three-person couch and frequently tried to kick me off the other 1/3 that wasn't in use. We've got furniture-hogging rules in my house so it didn't happen, but boy did she try! She even sat on my head before and kicked me when she stole my pillow. 🤣 My fur kiddos who passed away all knew the furniture-hogging rules.

Mira good job however instead of using those wipes get your self a can of furniture polish and micro fabric rags less expensive and won't ruin your furniture and if u keep after it will be less successful .good luck can't wait to see the whole finished job.

I was inspired to declutter my closet and dresser. I had a drawer full of stained, worn out clothes for “dirty jobs”. I forced myself to get rid of all but one shirt and bottoms.😊 Thank you for the inspiration.
