We are very excited to see how the pon and moss mix works. It’s such a great idea! We’re working on some needed instructions for the supports. For now, there’s extra room for creativity with assembly 😂. It’s exciting to see people try things we hadn’t considered. The hook is for hanging it in drywall. It leaves a smaller hole compared to normal anchors.

I love how you don’t follow any instructions and do your own thing. You are using your instincts and I have no doubt that the results are going to be amazing. Your entire plant collection is a testament to it. It also leaves room for creativity which is so much fun 🤩

To pack spaghnum moss, I used my husband’s extra golf club turned upside down. Worked really well when I had extended one of my moss poles. Don’t tell him. Lol

I avoided moss poles for the longest time too because I didn't like the look, but mostly was worried I'd have water it constantly because moss dries out so fast in my environment. I finally decided to add one to one of my climbing philodendrons in pon, and I potted it up the same way you did (with pon in the pot portion of the pole but moss going up the pole), but I added a self watering wick going from the bottom of the pot (mine is a submersion setup, so my wick is in contact with the reservoir) up the center of the pole to help with capillary action and it seems to be working so far! I only have to lightly mist my moss pole when I top off the reservoir and it stays pretty moist! Of course, when it's time to extend the pole, I'll be outta luck, but it's working for now! Love how yours turned out - it looks so good!

OMG!!! Adding a wicking rope is genius! I would’ve never thought to do that! 😱 I think I’m gonna take it apart and add one! Thanks for telling me. ☺️🫶

Ikea sell a product called the trixig for £15 which comes with bits for £5 - one of the bits is a Allen bit and I believe it's like an electric Allen key.

Do you often mix moss with pon? I am about to make 4 of these Rousseau poles for pon climbers. My plan was to put all moss in the base and then use their potting substrate and moss in the pole. Now I’m befuddled what is the best option to help it root into the pole and not mess up my lechuza pon in the pot. Thank you for this video as there aren’t many on how to use the moss pole on top of pon. I’m so glad I found your joyful channel! 🌿

Can’t wait to see what this beauty will look like in a few months’ time! I have a few plants in pon in self-watering pots on moss poles and it’s quite a chore to keep them moist. I’ll be curious to hear what you have to say! Great clip!

I think the black strap is to attach the pot to the post when you hang it. I saw it like that before.

You’re right! It came with several straps. I definitely should’ve added a strap around the planter, but I didn’t like the way it looked. Lol I figured since I don’t have kids or pets it would stay secure without it! 😅

This is genius! Expensive, but such a great idea. They absolutely have powered allen wrenches. I also wish they removed the back holes. Water will come out too and it will dry faster.

Hi, just by a small electric screwdriver, and then a set of bits, these are the little adapters that will fit all sorts of different screws. You just pick the bit that fits the screws you are using and put in in the electric screwdriver, or you can put a drill-bit in to drill a hole (there are different drill-bits for different materials). Maybe watch a video if this sounds confusing to you, or even better have a friend show it to you. I´m so glad you rotated the plant, I was ready to write you positioned it wrong :D I think it´s because you looked at it from the side and back, so we can see it from the front. I always position it how I think and use some plant velcro to hold it in place and then have a proper look from the front. I also think it was a good idea to no use the strawberry share, it´s already such a big plant and often old nodes don´t grow into a pole anymore, but new nodes do it quite easily. Also it was already so tall that you would have needed an extension right away, maybe even two.

Thanks! I think that’s exactly what happened. I had the plant faced towards you all so I wasnt really able to tell it wasn’t straight. I’m gonna start being more aware of that from now on when I film repots! ☺️🫶

Girl your the best you make me smile lol :) you do not need to fill moss all way to top just add moss as plant grows :) funny metal hook goes in drywall-- I’d use a better hook with Molly in wall!

The tilted film is genius! I don't mind the algae but I am curious to see how that works out and looking forward to your updates. Also in my experience even with the ventilation holes the Rousseau Poles stay moist for much longer than other D-shaped plastic-backed moss poles in my collection. I am curious to see how covering them up affects the performance.

Thank you. I’ve never had a moss pole, just decided to make 2 of them and now I have fungus gnats. My plants are in semi-hydro (pon) for over a year, so I haven’t had that problem, but now those two moss poles are about to be out😢

Can anyone tell how the combo of pon&moss works? Cause i thought getting dead organic matter in the pon can cause root rot that's why u clean off all the soil from the roots?
